meeting Erwann after all these years
On Boxing Day (that don't have Boxing Day in Paris) night and again last night I caught up with my friend from exchange - Erwann!!
It was incredible to see him after all tees years! He's still the same pessimistic, political and passionate Frenchman.
We went to a local Japanese restaurant (for old times sake)on the first night and then walked around to the De Germaine area and went to a Jazz Club which was packed and where most were up on the dance floor.
During one of the train changes our tickets were checked and for about two minutes I couldn't find my ticket!!! It would have resulted in a 99Euro fine!
Eventually I found it in one of my many coat pockets.
Last night we met as Erwann's work place - te National Assembly (Parliament) and he gave us a bit of a tour of the buildings outside. His friend was still working last so we insistented he come to dinner with us.
Erwann took us to his favourite restaurant (a little out of town) and it was Amaze balls! Really was!! The dessert was the best I've ever had - this chocolate fondant moten lava cake and rum and raise nice cream. My main was a duck fillet with this honey dressing and roast potatoes. We drank red wine and debated everything from world politics to wedding proposals an X Factor Australia.

Luke's creams brûlée was also the best he had ever had ....
(Even though it had an aboriginal flag up there it was the most obnoxious Australian themed pub I have seen in Europe and it was around the corner )
To make the night more interesting - Armin (Erwann's colleague) was just lovely. We clicked wit him well and hope to see him again one day ....
And ..... While in the train carriage I swear I saw my friend Peroshnee from South Africa getting into the same freaking train carriage as us. I wasn't 100% it was her but when Luke called out her name as we were getting off the train she turned around !!!!! What are the chances !!!
