Five Albums that Rule.

1.) The Decemberists - Picaresque

The Decemberists are one of the coolest, original sounding bands out there. Many of the songs involve very well told stories as well. I can't place an exact genre though. I would recommend checking http://www.myspace.com/thedecemberists to see if you are interested in their style. No songs there are on this album, but if you like the songs there you should love Picaresque. Or if you want I could just send you "The Bagman's Gambit through AIM, if you were interested.

2.) The Cardigans - First Band on the Moon

The only single I know of that hit the states is for the song "Lovefool." While an enjoyable song, it's the rest of the album that shines. They have a mellow sound that almost aches, but never breaches bitchy or emo. http://www.myspace.com/thecardigans to see if you like the band. Only Lovefool is available from this album though.

3.) Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

Definately their own unique sound, The Flaming Lips are always experimenting with music. I imagine you are familiar with some of their work already. Just in case you aren't though, here is their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/flaminglips

4.) Michael Bublé - It's Time

Bringing back the sounds and styles of lassic music such as Frank Sinatra, Bublé makes his career mostly of covers of older songs. His crisp voice brings a solid nostalgic feel of this classy music. His Web site has some of his songs: http://www.michaelbuble.com/ The first two tracks on here are his versions of Christmas songs, but "Home" and "Feeling Good" are both from the album I mentioned.

5.) Depeche Mode - Greatest Hits volume 1

It's an 18 track listing of a lot of Depeche Mode's coolest songs, along with one new one called "Martyr." If you are a fan of Depeche Mode, then this is a really solid release. If for some ungodly reason you aren't familiar with them, here is their myspace with 4 songs, including that new one: http://www.myspace.com/depechemode

Don't take my word for it. Click on the damn links if you want to see how the music sounds, you ingrates! Take care, and enjoy the music.
