Things are so different here. It's not snowing, thats not it. Infact, I'm very sad it's not snowing. Oh well.

Things are different in other aspects, the cities are laid out differently, space is used differently. The population density is SO low. Space is SO cheap. Parking lots go on fo multiple football field sizes, the stores here are the biggest I have ever seen- and there's multiple copies of every store literally a mile away from you. I'm not sure if the Midwest is more or less dependent on vehicles to get places.

There's certainly no way to walk from place to place here, you have to drive everywhere. In California, we have roads apon roads apon roads- but if you REALLLY wanted to, you could walk places. Does the presence of more reads mean we are more dependent on vehicles?

Land is so cheap here, everything is spread out. I think most of it is less pretty than California, but the availability of land does mean that there's open land which looks nice. But to see acres taken up by a Best Buy.... :/

Land is cheap tho, which means large houses for cheap. I wish I could live somewhere other than California.
