Well, let's see, since I haven't posted anything of interest (except about my furbabies) lately, I will try and update what's going on here....
WORK...
Keeps me really busy. Although, I was pretty psyched to get out early today at 1:15. That in itself was a miracle! I have not been out that early since I started at the hospital 7 months ago. I really like my job. It's been fairly stressful there lately because of budget issues. Geez, financial woes follow me everywhere I go. I'm starting to get a complex.
Yesterday, I was supposed to tape a TV program with a few people at work. But the doctor involved was out sick, so we had to postpone. It's just a nutrition show for a local access station. I'm a bit nervous about it because I HATE how I look, sound, etc... on video. Ugh. But, I really can't say no. I'm not sure when they will have it rescheduled for, but do you think that I can lose 20# by then? Maybe then I would be more confident! HA! Which brings me to my next (depressing) topic...
HEALTH & FITNESS....
Just call me Miss Fatty McFatty! Ugh. I have been a bad, bad girl. Not working out (truthfully, I can only find about 10 minutes of time during workdays... and that is at 4:30 am), and eating too much junk (read: chocolate) has drastically expanded my waistline as well as my badonkadonk. It doesn't help matters that my new job has me literally sitting all day long. Not that I don't sit at my other job, but I never had my own office, so I moved about the facility a lot. Now, I have my own office and chair and I'm glued to it. Plus, I don't get home in time to walk the pooches in the afternoon anymore. In the morning, I walk Papi at 4:30 am but he only wants to go to the top of the hill and back down (which is all of about 1/4 mile roundtrip). So, I've gained about 10# in the past year! YUCK. And, a year ago, I was 15# more than I was when I got married! So, I have gained about 25# since my wedding in 2004. Very very depressing. Luckily, I am so busy with work, I don't have time to dwell on it. Although, that may be a bad thing, because the more I can dwell on it, maybe I would be proactive about it. So, I signed up again on the weightloss challenge on CC. But, I FORGOT all about it until today. I forgot to weighin. So, I weighed in 4 days late and have GAINED 0.6# in 11 days. Great job Steph!
I MUST come up with a PLAN to get these damn 25# off! I feel digusting. I don't fit into my clothes. I stand in my walkin closet every morning wondering what I can wear that will fit AND won't make me look like a puffalump.
HELP!
MORE HEALTH NEWS....
So, I had my first visit a few weeks ago with my Rheumatologist. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but my bloodwork came back a month or so ago that I tested positive for the rheumatoid (arthritis) factor and the other blood level they test came back positive too (I forget the other name). Fun times. Being 35 years old and finding out I may have RA is kind of a downer. So, the rheumatologist set up a full body bone scan and xrays to be done. I had that all done on Tuesday this week. I have to take the images with me next week when I go back for my followup. He hasn't given me a definitive answer yet as to whether I do have RA. He took more bloodwork two weeks ago too. So, I will find out next Wednesday what his final thoughts are. I think he is concerned because my mom and grandmother both have it, and I was diagnosed with psoriasis last year (which is common with arthritis). As far as my symptoms go, I have a lot of little "twinges" of pain here and there. I had a burning sharp pain in my little toe in the middle of the night last night that woke me up out of a deep sleep. That was something new. I usually just have pain in my right big toe joint. Nothing unmanageable. A little ibuprofen does the trick.
I will keep you all updated about it as I get more information...
LOVE....
Joe & I are doing well. We hardly ever see each other (awake anyways), so there isn't really much chance to "fight". HA!
Actually, I got out of work 1 hour early yesterday and got home by 4:30 pm. We had a little "fun" that we normally haven't had a chance for during the weekdays. I'm usually so exhausted by the time I get home at 6 pm that the last thing on my mind is s.e.x.. My poor hubby, he has been very patient and supportive with my horrible work hours.
I can't wait until next weekend because we will have all weekend off together. We are going to a belated Xmas party at a coworker's house next Saturday night. Then, Sunday, we might be going to Portland shopping and out to lunch. Of course, the Superbowl is on next Sunday night too. We will have to try and pry our eyes open with toothpicks to watch it! GO PATS!
FUN STUFF....
Joe & I are trying to plan a trip this year. We finally have saved up enough frequent flyer miles to get 2 roundtrip tickets (in the continental US anyways). So, we want to visit a ballpark and watch the Redsox play. Where we go also needs to have an amusement park (like Sixflags). So, we are considering Arlington, TX as a possibility. The Sox play down there in September. And, they have a Sixflags in the same town. I would love it if we didn't have to rent a car while we are there, but I'm not sure if it is possible. Two other places we considered are Baltimore MD and Chicago. But, the hotels are more expensive there and the amusement parks are not as close by to the ballparks. We'll see. First, I need to do some more research. Has anyone been to Arlington, TX? If you have, give me your opinion/thoughts of the area please!
THIS WEEKEND...
Well, as I previously mentioned, Joe is in VT (actually he's in Keene, NH) and I'm stuck here. My mom is planning on visiting tomorrow. She is bringing my niece with her too. They want to see Wally before he is all "grown up". Which I think is funny because Wally now weighs about 65 lbs! HA! He is still all puppy though, so they will have fun with him. Wally and Papi like to "show off" when others visit. They put on their own rendition of WWE Smackdown and they are very LOUD. When they play their "open-mouth bitey face" game, they make these really weird noises. Should be fun.
We will probably go out to dinner too. Not sure where. Colby (my niece) most likely will talk us into going to Friendly's. She loves it there (*puke*). Don't know if they have anything "vegetarian" on their menu except for the mozarella sticks. That's all I really have for exciting plans. I have to go get groceries sometime and go to Target (or Walmart if I can stomach it).
Okay, so I think I have finally run out of things to say. I will try and stop in more often here. I wish I had time to update my journal more often, but LJ is blocked at work and I don't have time before work, which leaves after work, and I really do need to spend that 1-2 hours in the evening with my honey. Weekends will have to be the majority of my updates.
I will try and take so new pictures of my boys this weekend.
