This is a rant.

Not how I wanted to update my journal after such a long time, but it's really making me angry that Japan is so paranoid of Swine Flu.

At first, it was just quaint. Middle schoolers being forced to wear the surgical masks is kind of cute, and I'm already addicted to hand sanitizer, so I use what the managers put out for us every chance I get.

Then the flu hit Kobe, and people in Kyoto started getting nervous.

Apparently someone at Ritsu's other campus, BCK, got infected the other day, and the entire campus closed down. ONE student. Classes are canceled until TUESDAY. I'm wondering how many of my classmates are considering saying they have the virus just so they can legitimately skip classes.

But the part that really makes me angry? My dance group was FORCED (by some as-yet unknown entity) to cancel practice for a whole week. This right as we're preparing to perform in Hokkaido next month, and when some of us are at a point in training that will really make or break it for us as far as learning things the proper way. Learning off a dvd just establishes bad habits.

The only thing that could make me feel better at this point is classes getting canceled at Kinugasa campus next week and thus being able to celebrate my birthday by taking Chelley to karaoke.

...Actually, that would seriously make up for dance practice and give me a much-needed study break...

Maybe I should present the idea to our resident prankster. >)
