The first set is not new, indeed, I just played with them so you have probably seen some of these. I had to post them because he would not have forgiven me writing about feathered goodness and excluding him from the rendezvous.

A little of own monstrosity )

A parrot adds a whole new dimension to your world, indeed. Because they are so different from any other pets I've ever had (and that we tried a lot, lol). They're smart. Too smart. Discussing with each other, playing mind games, trying to outsmart each other. I wouldn't believe it's possible in an animal if I didn't witnessed it daily - and even now, I am regularly SO amazed.

Here a piece I wrote someone before, because I wrote on the same lines whenever someone asks me and I'm starting to get lazy ;)

He's potty-trained so he knows he's only allowed to do his need at certain spots, and I have newspaper under his favorite perching places so that an eventual accident doesn't go on the carpet (fun cleaning up). In 99% cases, he says that he needs to go and friendly allows me to place him above the nexspaper if he's somewhere else :D (see, a Grey is his royal majesty, the highness. He knows very well WHERE to do it, but he won't bother to actually go there himself).

He talks, oooh how he talks. He doesn't shut up all day long :D and my, how I've gotten used to it. I had to be separated from him for a few months and it was suddenly so quiet when you get used to the constant chatter and discussions. He knows about 200 words now (raw estimation; stopped counting at 50), he makes new ones out of those he knows with actual meaning, he makes sentences, and he knows what every single one of them means.

He's a cool buddy.

When I'm reading until late in the night and he really gets enough of it, he starts saying 'Goodnight ! Goodnight !' until I get up, turn the lights off and we go to sleep. He knows the names of several kinds of fruit and vegetables + other kinds of food he gets as well as the general term 'snack' so often I would hear 'Yumyumyum, snack potatoe ! Enjoy - thank you !'. He always says 'hi' when we come from being out of sight (even to the cat ! My, I thought I'd fall out of my chair when I witnessed that the first time. Apparently he is so used to our language), and often says 'peek-a-boo !' when you look into his eyes.

When he wants a scratch and you're busy, he comes first with 'scratch ?' and when you don't respond, he starts to soften his voice and add 'honey ? darling ? Pleaseee ?' in such a tone NO ONE resists. When he's loving, he'd say 'Kiss ?' and/or make lots of that kissing noise. When you give him a kiss, he opens his beak a bit and kisses you too, making that kissing noise.

And hundreds and hundreds of others ... you see, I'm very lost :D

Enough reading material for one evening, I think (blush, I just love him so much)
