fifty shades of exhausted

This is going to be short because hoooooly fuck did I have a long day at work. I'm glad to have work every day now, but again, hoooooly fuck.

Title inspired by the guy who was looking for that audiobook today. We did not have it.

In your own space, rec at least 3 fanworks you thought you wouldn't like (because they weren't your fandom or they pushed against your boundaries or you thought you just wouldn't be interested) but you ended up loving. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Nine Crimes is the story that made me finally come to terms with the fact that I might just be a Zatalie shipper. There's a lot of potential there for an interesting relationship dynamic and I knew that when I wrote my short Zatalie, but the sheer dirtiness of this story and how adorably dumb Zac is just makes it that much better. Of course, now I have another ship entirely in this story...

Tulsa 74132 is one of those hanfics everyone has read, but not me. At least not until recently. When I got into hanfic, it was offline and my aversion to anything overly popular caused me to scoff at it anyway. I only read it a few months ago and I expected it to be awful because of its age, but it actually was a fairly decent read for something written by teenagers.

Emotion Sickness is another victim of my aversion to popular stories. I think I tried to read it a few years ago and when the first paragraph or two didn't hook me, I stopped. I finally read it a few months ago and really, really enjoyed it. Not sure what I was thinking that first time.

I'm glad that somewhere along the way, I became obsessed with being well read and that overruled my aversion to highly popular things. Sometimes things are actually popular because they're good. Who knew?
