Why does it have to be soo...cold here?? I hate cold weather!! It snowed 6 inches yesterday and I'm not sure if I liked it all that much. The crunch of snow under my Etnies was nice and all, but I eventually soaked my socks...very not cool. We ended up in Venice this past Sunday. Our friends, and married couple, Jen and Justin went with us. There were soccer hooligans (Italian ones) on the train in Sacile and they ended up having to call the Italian Polizia riot team to help escort them off the train because they were a bit sloshed and rowdy. It was interesting nonetheless.

Having Tom, Brad's dad, here made me realize how freakin' boring this place is. I felt so bad that we really didn't have anything for him to do except look at pretty buildings and eat food. Speaking of food, my Ristorante Cinese wasn't open yesterday (I was craving some Chinese food) so we ended up at Cafe Bianca (the very first Italian restaurant we ate at when we got here) and I let Brad convince me to get the pesto. Now, I love MY pesto (because I make it the way I like it) but theirs was too much pasta and too seasoned. I was not pleased. Plus, I got the worst heartburn from it when I got home.

When in Venice, we ate at McDonald's (I know, what better of Italian-experience can you give a guest than to take them to McDonald's) and Brad and I got into it because I refused to use their broken toilet (and I say "toilet" because there was ONE for both men and women...and it didn't have a toilet seat..and it didn't flush), but I still had to go. I'm pregnant, I always have to pee. Anyway, he ended up having to fork over 50 euro cents for me to use a public toilet (the place smell of rank farts and old shit, but the toilets had actual seats and there was a bit more privacy). I don't get why you have to pay to use a toilet, but I guess they figure if you really have to go, you'll sure as hell fork over some pocket change to do so...and they were right.

Tom made a little faux pax when he agreed to take a picture for some Ities (Italians)...they were all wearing their rainbows and "Pace" ("peace") hats and scarves (NOTE: The rainbow here *Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple* doesn't mean homosexual/bisexual/etc pride...it means 'Peace'...as in: "Fight mean/stupid Americans for peace"). I tried to tell him to back off of them because..well, for lack of better words, they HATE us. But, he was determined to be the "good American". I mean, hell, we were standing next to a building that had been tagged with the words: "No More Iraqi War, Americans Go Home!". They don't want us here, but we can take souvenir pictures of them?? Kiss my ass...

It's nice to get back into the swings of things again. Having company is really great, but I like my daily routines. Anyway, I'm gonna get to goin'..late
