Plot: In an attempt to distract me from my law coursework and do something festive, I wrote a little something on how i think Annie, Mitchell and George would be spending their December 1st putting up their christmas decorations. Although, with all the work i've been doing, I'm not too proud of how it came out but I might add some more in the christmas break maybe... I hope you all like it anyway :) Let me know what you think tho cos i really appreciate the comments you all give :) thankyou x x

‘Have you found them yet George?!’ Annie called up the ladder into their loft. It was the first of December and Annie was insistent George bring her Christmas decorations down from the loft that she’d brought to the house when she moved in with Owen.
‘Seriously how much stuff do you have up here?!” a voice called out ‘and why am I up here and not Mitchell?!’ George complained
‘Because he’s not here that’s why!’ Annie called back. Mitchell was working a late shift so wouldn’t be back til the early morning.
‘And you’re not up here because…’
‘Because I can’t bring them down silly, they’re too heavy!’
‘You could move them with your super power?’
‘I’ve not got it working yet! So unless you want the roof to collapse in on us, I’m afraid it’s you that does the lifting George!’

‘Right I think I’ve found it!’ George looked at the three, no, four, large boxes (not including the tree) of Christmas decorations. He smiled looking at the hearts for dots over the I’s and snowflakes and other festive doodles Annie had put on the boxes.
‘The first one’s coming down!’
‘Okay’ Annie said stretching her arms as high above her head as she possibly could ready to get the box. George, after two attempts, the first one he’d fallen backwards trying to pick it up, managed to get the box off the ground momentarily before sliding it over to Annie.
‘Now, use your power to get it down the ladder’
‘No, I can carry it its fine!’ She said arms still stretched out.
‘If I can’t lift it I don’t think you can Annie?’
‘What? Because I’m a woman?! That’s seriously sexist George!’
‘What?! No! I’m not being sexist, I’m just saying…never mind... here it comes!’

George slid it across the floor to the top of the stairs and pushed it to the loft opening and after asking Annie around 7 or 8 times if she was ready he passed it onto her hands. Of course, George was right, Annie’s arms buckled under the sheer weight of her festive collections and the box was about to smash on the second floor landing before Annie shot a glance at it and the box suddenly gently landed on the floor, near Mitchell’s room, on the other side of the house.

‘See, I told you your powers worked!’
‘Yes, under pressure!’ Annie remarked ‘Well, you see that proves it; I could totally go into Masterchef. John and Greg would be amazed’
‘Yes’ George sighed breathing a sigh of relief and then a sigh of exhaustion as he trudged back to the rest of the boxes to move box number two.

An hour and a half later
‘This is the ‘house emergency’ you made me rush home for?!’ Mitchell said staring at the boxes piled up in front of his room, out of breath as he stumbled through the door.
‘Yes well…this… is as far…as I… could manage’ George said panting, sweating and exhausted. He was lying at the top of the stairs with a cold flannel on his head.

‘Poor thing, he almost passed out after bringing the last box down’ Annie said patting the flannel ‘But, since you’re here now Mitchell, do you think you could possibly take them…
‘Are you telling me that I almost got myself killed driving like a maniac on the roads thinking the house was on fire or something, when actually it was because some christmas decorations needed relocating!’

‘Killed?’ Annie said confused completely ignoring his point
‘You know what I mean!’ Mitchell said realizing what he’d said
‘I don’t he’s very happy’ Annie whispered to George and he nodded in agreement. An angry vampire was never a good thing, especially over festive decorations.

‘Okay, well… you’re here now so can we get them down the stairs now please’
‘Can’t you use you’re powers?’ he asked ‘And what the hell happened in here?!’
‘Ah, yes, well I was getting to that… I tried to move them and … well..’ Annie said nervously as Mitchell observed the bathroom. In trying to get the box down the stairs after George had epically failed at carrying it, Annie decided to shift it with her ghost power. It hadn’t worked, the box lifted in the air and opened up, flying everywhere and in Annie’s desperate panic to set it down gently, she’d sent decorations everywhere. There was tinsel on the showerhead, in the bath, around the taps as well as snowflakes and glitter all over the floor.

‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ George sang in an attempt to cheer Mitchell up. He wasn’t impressed.

‘Right, well, sitting around won’t get the festive party started will it?!’ Annie said trying to diffuse the tension ‘We need to get them down stairs and start putting them up!’
‘We?! How long did it take me to get them out of the loft? I’m not going to end up in A&E because a ghost wants to have a very Merry Christmas!’ George said

‘Oh come on it’ll be easy’ Annie said as she tried to pick up a box, but, as George had done before, she fell backwards almost tumbling down the stairs. Again.
‘Whoops! Aha, I’d better watch out, wouldn’t want to fall down those again would I? We saw the damage it did first time’ she said laughing but George wasn’t impressed. ‘I think you’re best taking them downstairs Mitchell?’ Annie said gesturing to him as he heaved himself up off the floor to bring them down.

‘No! Mitchell! Tinsel first theen the lights!’
‘I didn’t think it mattered?’
‘Oh it totally does!’ Annie said tutting as she took the tinsel off of him and passed him the twinkly lights instead, fanning him over to the other side of the tree so he could help her start putting them up. ‘Kirstie Allsop was very particular about the only right way to decorate a tree and I want ours to look a-maz-ing.’

Mitchell nodded along sighing, not really bothered about how pretty the tree was. He was more concerned about hearing Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ for the fiftieth time along with George singing along to it. George was in his own little festive world, much like Annie, putting hanging decorations onto their ceiling.
‘Right, so you hold them still while I walk around the tree...’ Annie started ducking under his arms as she passed.
‘This won’t all go on this one tree Annie?’ Mitchell observed as he saw the array of baubles, tinsel and lights scattered across the living room floor.
‘Of course it won’t, I know that’ Annie said ‘There’s two smaller trees over there’ she said ducking under him again. She was getting a tad dizzy from walking around in circles.

‘Ta daaaa!’ She said eventually switching them on to check they were working, very pleased with herself that they were ‘Right, now we do the tinsel’ she said passing a sack full of tinsel to Mitchell while she got the other box of lights out to put around their front living room window.

‘So are just going to leave the bathroom then?’ Mitchell asked
‘Well, no one ever has decorations in their bathroom... I quite like them there!’ Annie said threading the lights around the window pane.
‘Tinsel around the taps can’t be a good thing’ he replied
‘Oh they’re fine Mitchell, It’s not like I put lights around the bath like I did before...’
‘Before?!’ George said
‘What? I didn’t get electrocuted did I?’
‘No you’re right, it was the boyfriend on the stairs with the push that did it’ George said in a cludeo-type voice as he put up the other tree in the kitchen adding baubles as he went before giving George Michael a run for his money as he sang along to Last Christmas.

‘Yes. Thank you George’ Annie said, checking these lights worked too.
‘Are we having the angel, sparkly star or super scary sparkly star on top of the tree?’ Mitchell asked presenting the tree ornaments to Annie.
‘Hmm.. I always loved the angel, I’ve had it since I was a tiny wee baby but the super scary sparkly star, apparently, is rather gorgeous isn’t it?’
‘If you say so’ Mitchell said backing off, slightly worried it would do the same damage to him that the Sun did.

‘Right we’ll put the super sparkly star on this tree in here and the angel in the kitchen and then the angel can go…George? Where’s the third tree?’ Annie called out dragging the piece of tinsel Mitchell had wrapped around his shoulders as he was about to put it up, causing him to drag along behind her.

‘Oooohh!’ Annie said in excitement as she looked out of the lounge window
‘What do you think?’ George said admiring his handy work.
‘Is that a snowman?’ Mitchell asked
‘Yep’ George said very proud of himself. He’d set up the third tree in their front garden with Annie’s blow-up snowman alongside it as well as a lit-up Santa and animatronic reindeer.
‘All that’s left now is….’ Annie said rather gleefully as she darted back into the lounge, flicking the plug switch.
‘Make my wish come trueeeeeee, all I want for christmasss is yooooooouuuuu!’ the reindeer began to sing…
