Relay for Life
Precisely what it sounds like. A fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society that involves teams of 10 doing a 12 hour relay. The one at the University of Ottawa is taking place on March 26th.

The women on my mother's side of the family have been particularly hard hit by cancer. Few have reached the age of 40 without having some form of the disease. My cousin Sandra, with whom I share a birthday, has been fighting her battle for almost 7 years. My grandmother was diagnosed back in the early 80s and was gone within days. One of my mother's cousins died at 23 of breast cancer.
