Torchwood: Children of Earth, Part 3 (Spoilers)

Jul 08, 2009 21:02

Well, let's get the obvious out of the way first. I saw it coming, but it was still difficult to see the looks on the faces of everyone in the warehouse, but also Jack, when he admitted that he gave the children to the aliens in 1965. Wow. They all looked so disillusioned, and Jack looked disgusted with himself. I'm sure he had a good reason for doing it, but still.

And oh Alice and Steven. She is totally her dad's daughter. It worries me that they might further distance themselves from Jack after this, though. I hope not.

I continue to love Johnny and Rhiannon. Leave it to Johnny to try and make some cash as a babysitting service, lol. And I love that they have a Ianto communication network worked out with the neighbors. I hope they don't get retconned.

And yay for the coat! \o/ Trust Ianto to see that as a basic essential.

And oh Jack and Ianto. I loved their little conversation at the beginning. First of all, Ianto's questioning Jack about being blown up. Yes, it was a bit... grim. But I think it's important for Jack to talk about the trauma, and it's important for Ianto to understand what Jack lives through. And I liked the bit where Ianto said that he and Jack had better enjoy the time they have.

I really do hope, though, that by the end of the series (which will hopefully be years away), Jack loses his inability to die and can live a normal life (and "ride off into the sunset") with Ianto.

And EW! The aliens were gross!
