I can't picture SG-1 anymore without Cameron Mitchell, Hank Landry, and Vala Mal Doran.
I can. I miss old SG-1. I mean I love Vala's hilariousness, but I still prefer Jack. I just wub Jack. ♥ Hank yuck, I don't really like him, I just couldn't, I liked Hammond better, he had a kinder heart, at least on screen.
But I did really enjoy this movie, it brought out a lot of the good of every season and just packed it into one big movie. :D
All the minor System Lords. (Yay for Steve Bacic!) I loved seeing them! I found it wonderful they were able to actually round them all up again.
Those who just limit themselves to SGA are really missing something. I quite agree! I can't believe, still, how awesome and amazing this show is/was/will always be. The chemistry, the stories. All of it. Also agree with you on Cam, Vala and Landry - they've fitted so well into the show. Sometimes I go back to the early season and have to remind me they are NOT in them. Odd.
I couldn't help but think back to "Abyss" when Baal addressed Jack. SIGH, yes. The way Jack was tortured and wanted out of it will forever live in my mind. Poor Jack.
Still, sleeveless Cliff Simon. BWAHAHA. So true.
It was a little bittersweet to see Don S. Davis. :( Oh yes. The last work (um, that I know of) the man did, how great he'd always been. God, he'll be missed.
All the minor System Lords. Absolutely loved it. All the headaches our teams have gone through, back, alive and kicking. I can't tell who is my favorite, really. Though Apophis (who I totally didn't expect) might take the prize for being a classic.
I hear people all the time saying how the chemistry on SGA is so good. And it is. But the rapport between the characters on SG-1 is so natural.
There are times during the series where I'm watching an earlier episode, and I find myself wondering what Cam is doing. Has he been told about the Stargate program? I do the same thing with Major Lorne on SGA, too. We have a better idea of where he probably was, though, at least by Season 7.
We really need some flashback scenes in a future movie or SGA episode. I want backstory that gives us a timeline on the newer characters.
Yeah, I'm planning on a marathon, too. I didn't get to it yesterday, but everyone has made some suggestions on my poll, so I think I'm going to settle in with some cookies and watch SG-1.
I liked both movies, but I actually think I preferred this one. They did an interview with Brad Wright, and he implied that there would be another movie. I'm hoping that turns out to be the case, because I'm not ready to say goodbye.
Cam's family farm is in Kansas. I really liked the movie. I didn't even delete it after I watched it because I actually kind of want to watch it again. That's pretty much unprecedented for me and SG-1. I'm sad, though, because I was going to post my commentary from watching, but I lost it before I had a chance to post.
Well I only remember it because I live in Kansas and tend to remember stuff like that. I just remember trying to pick out things they did wrong while watching the episode where he went home for his high school reunion. They actually didn't piss me off much. I just remember thinking, "Oh come on! No one in Kansas would ever really refer to a tornado as a twister."
Also, I think I agree with you in you above comment about liking this movie more than Ark of Truth.

My husband called it nostalgic. I called it a weird reunion of sorts.
Must dust the covers off the Season 1-10 SG1 and have me a marathon. :D Ok the first few seasons. XD

And I was, too, sad in when I saw my lovely General Hammond. (I saw the movie 3 weeks or so after his death) It did hurt!
I hope you had fun watching it and hopefully there will be a third movie. :D
