You will SO not regret getting into Donald Strachey Mysteries. In addition to the other comms above, there's also strachey_pi. DSM fandom isn't super active, but with two upcoming movies and a new book it will probably pick up a little.

heh, and soap opera fandoms sucked me in last year year, you're good to avoid them; the fandoms are addicting and you can't stop at one, soon it's two, four, they grow like a freakish growing thing, I swear. And with that, I'm going to go watch subtitled German soaps on youtube.

I'll have to check out the Donald Strachey Mysteries. I keep hearing good things.

I loved V: The Miniseries! I was never into fandom back then, but you're right, I bet it would be mighty interesting these days.

I loved JAG, but was never into the fandom, having gotten into the show well after it ran on regular tv(watched it all in sydication). Was the fandom that bad?

It wasn't bad at first, but toward the later seasons, there was a lot of infighting between the people who shipped Harm/Mac and the people who shipped anything else. They were particularly virulent toward Webb/Mac shippers. I got personally insulted a number of times on a site called JAG-a-thon, which was unfortunately one of the main sites for the show and personally saw others treated the same way ( ... )
