It's all going too quickly
I just finished the third disc in my Firefly boxed set. This means that I have one disc left. *cries* I also have the movie to look forward to, though I'm somewhat spoiled for it.
My viewing experience is going by too quickly. It's a damn shame that the show never got more of a shot.
Of course, I still haven't watched the episodes with the commentaries on yet!
Serenity - Parts 1 and 2:
* The defining battle sequence at the end totally solidified Mal and Zoe as characters and as comrades-in-arms for me.
* Loved the introductions of Book and Simon.
* Simon and River so remind me of Jean-Paul and Jeanne-Marie from Marvel Comics.
* Kaylee is such a doll.
* Mal and Simon = my slash OTP for the show.
Shindig:
* Mal and Inara are win. I love their chemistry.
* Mal is such a man, and men can be such idiots.
* I'll say it again. Kaylee is a doll.
* The dueling was a nice touch, but mostly because I've studied dueling in the 19th Century.
Safe:
* This episode highlights why I love Simon.
* River actually had real lines and real characterization in this episode.
* Dear diary, Jayne continues to make me laugh. I kind of want to slash him with Simon.
* Did anyone really doubt that Mal the teddy bear captain would go back for Simon and River?
Our Mrs. Reynolds:
* Loved everyone's reactions to Mal and his "bride."
* Inara was wonderful this episode. She really opened up as a character for me.
* So Mal is just a horny puddle of goo like all the others. :D
* Aw, Wash wouldn't cheat on his Zoe! I love him.
* Jayne/Vera = OTP
* Saffron isn't that pretty.
Jaynestown:
* Jayne can be such a dumbass, but I just roll my eyes and forgive him.
* Simon and Kaylee are so sweet and natural together.
* Loved everyone's reaction to Jayne the Local Folk Hero, especially Simon's.
* Good character growth for Jayne.
* So if that guy was in that box for 4 years, why wasn't he dirtier and weaker? Did they let him out to go to the bathroom?
Out of Gas:
* Simon's birthday. Aw!
* Loved the team/family time before the big boom.
* Mal is such a damn fine character.
* I felt bad for Wash.
* Loved the flashback sequences.
Ariel:
* Simon the criminal mastermind is ooey gooey good! I got a little turned on watching him lay out his master plan for the crew. :D
* Mal, Zoe, and Jayne trying to learn medical terminology = win.
* Jayne is a bad bad boy.
* River wears thin after a while.
* Book's reaction to Simon's heist was cute.
* Mal owns for the airlock scene. Period.
War Stories:
* I love Wash and Zoe as a couple even more. His inability to understand the bond Mal and Zoe share seems genuine, and his reactions to the situation were well done.
* Male bonding = bitching at each other while being tortured.
* I'm glad they had Kaylee freeze up during the firefight.
* Best line: "One of you is going to fall and die, and I'm not cleaning it up."
* Nice resolution of tensions between Mal, Zoe, and Wash.
Trash:
* What was that tattoo Mal had?
* Saffron still isn't that pretty.
* Inara was wonderful in this episode. *loves her*
* The Simon/Jayne interaction was beautiful. Just beautiful.
* River: "Also, I can kill you with my brain."
* Naked!Mal. *thud*
