Guess Who Cooked

Jun 14, 2006 19:49

That's right. I actually cooked--as in more than multiple steps and more than one bowl! Now, I should add a disclaimer: I love to cook. I really do. But since it's only me here, and I don't have a working oven, I've developed a tendency to eat a lot of cold cereal or ready-made food. Recently, I've decided that I need to cook, so I can have a feeling of normalcy. I wound up making a Mexican beef-rice thing. Yummy!

I was really productive today. I not only cooked, I also went up to the school to handle some administrative things regarding my upcoming graduation. I was concerned that I had not met the deadline, but the woman I spoke to assured me that I'm on track.

Also, I went to the LCS and the grocery store. At the comic shop, I picked up Civil War #2, Ultimate X-Men #71, Fantastic Four: A Death in the Family, Son of M #6, Runaways #16, and X-Factor #7.

I've skimmed Ultimate X-Men. It's not bad, but I'm ticked off, because it didn't give much attention to Peter and Jean-Paul's first date. :( They wound up getting interrupted by some lame-ass bad guys. I want my guys to a nice evening alone, dangit.

This isn't much of a spoiler, since some jerk at the Times spoiled it early, but Spiderman has revealed his secret identity to the world. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I guess we'll see. A lot of people are ticked off, because they feel that Spiderman having a secret identity is at the core of his character, and I kind of agree.

Also, Captain America is officially on the lamb, and a few other superheroes have joined him. This is shaping up to be a good story.

In other news, I found out today that there is a Double Chocolate Cookie Crisp cereal!!!
