I haaaaate the new logo, it's so unlike Doctor Who, in my opinion. They also changed the theme music, which I hate as well. Not to mention the revamp of the TARDIS. It's blue is too bright and I liked the interior of the old one better. It's just not the same.

Yep, hate the new music too, and the new TARDIS revamp...it just doesn't look as TARDIS-y and fun anymore, too glassy and hard and generic...:( I hear it's even made from the Torchwood set or something...the old TARDIS is definitely one thing I miss in the new Moffat era, I had no idea we'd be getting such a change....(it's like, I know there's a new showrunner, but did they really need to change EVERYTHING so drastically?!). And yeah, I felt the same way about the blue coloring, that actually came up when I was looking for a picture of the TARDIS for that one writer's block, lol, I specifically didn't want any season 5 images...

And yeah, I don't think I can quite say I was never a sci-fi nerd (I grew up on Animorphs, which is kind of like Supernatural actually if you replace demons with parasitic alien slugs and the angels with the proud Andalite race, and a pair of brothers with a rag-tag group of friends given the alien technology of turning into animals. And I liked Dollhouse and Firefly...), but still, I was thinking the other day how much I've fallen for the weird sci-fi aspects of this show, like the other planets and alien races...I don't think I've been quite as into sci-fi before as I am with DW! ;) I certainly like it more than any sci-fi show I've watched thus far...

I think the fact that they changed EVERYTHING - The Doctor, the companion, the showrunner, the theme music, the TARDIS...EVERYTHING, is why, even though I liked it, I didn't love it like I loved the other 4 seasons. It's just really, really different compared to them. I get that it's supposed to be a "new era" but changing everything at once, makes it almost unrecognizable to me. I don't understand yet why long-time DW fans keep saying Season 5 is their favorite. I feel like if I'd been watching it all these years and was a long-time fan, I would dislike it a lot, but IDK. And it's not even the "Ten is my Doctor" issue, since I like Eleven. It's just that nothing stayed the same, there's nothing from the past to help tie-in the other seasons.

I never, ever, thought I'd like a show that's AS sci-fi as DW is. I've liked shows in the past that had SOME sci-fi elements, but nothing like DW. I'd see DW on BBC America all the time in the past and just flip past it because I didn't think I'd like it since I usually hate sci-fi stuff...how wrong I was LOL Some of my favorite DW episodes are the alien-heavy ones.

I ramble too much when I talk about DW, geez LOL

Well it depends on what you mean by "long-time fans," since obviously for those who were Classic!Who fans they would be used to change with lack of previous tie-ins anyway...but yeah. I'm definitely going to miss all the old companions (since I feel like none of them would ever appear now, except MAYBE Sally Sparrow, which would be awesome anyway), and the old TARDIS, etc. The best we get are the many "Previous Doctors" sequences we've been getting...did you see the caps of Ten/Rose in the one in "The Lodger"? :) I squeed...

I just meant the new!Who fans, who've been watching since 2005 LOL

I wouldn't bet on seeing any of the characters from RTD's era again, sadly (I can see Sally making an appearance, though). I think that's why they had Ten say goodbye to all of them at the end of TEoT. In a way, I understand why Moffat wouldn't want to bring anyone back, but I'll miss them. I think having Eleven interact with one (or more) of them would help me accept him more because he'd feel more like The Doctor, but that's just me LOL Matt Smith is signed on until 2013, so, I guess it's a good thing I like him.

I saw someone the other day who said that it would be possible for DT to make an appearance in the future if he really wanted to because of the clone!Ten and because he's not ACTUALLY "The Doctor" in that universe. I think that would be REALLY interesting, to see them both interact, I'd love to see that LoL

Yeah, I think it'd be really interesting too...especially say like Jack, why couldn't he come back? Moffat created him in the first place anyway, he's his creation just like River was....I amused myself during the dreck that was "Victory of the Daleks" imagining 11 and Amy running into 9/Rose/Jack while in Blitz-era London, lol! ;)

Wow, 2013?! That's a long time to be signed on in advance...and that's 4 seasons no? That'd be even more time than DT was the Doctor, unless they made the 2013 a year of just specials as 2009 was...I'm glad I like him too!

Hmm, but how would they get to that parallel universe? :s And they'd have to show Rose too if they did that, I would think, lol....IDK, we know how Moffat feels about D/R; he said that awful thing about "growing a clone of yourself" being "a really elaborate way of getting rid of a clingy girlfriend", so I kind of doubt he'd being the clone into the picture anytime soon...I have to say, after reading that quote I really noticed Amy's scorn for the concept of being clingy in season 5--telling the Doctor she's not "clingy" enough to need him to die for her, calling Rory clingy for thinking he'd lost her because she had disappeared under the dirt. I had to roll my eyes at the seeming pot-shots Moffat was taking at Rose there...*sigh*

I think it'd be more likely we'd see DT in some kind of "5 Doctors" special thing (you know how they had a special in Classic Who where like 4 of the old Doctors appeared in the same epp, at the same time to work together to solve a big problem?), an epp where for some reason more than one of the doctors came together (like the more recent "Time Crash" CIN thing...which was written by Moffat!)....I'd really love to see that (and I bet DT would be happy to come back for a one-off like that), and it'd be even more awesome if CE agreed to come back for such a thing too, though given his attitude that'd be less likely to happen. But I would love to see 9 and 10 appear together and then discuss Rose a little amongst themselves...;)
