LOL IKR?! Ugh, SO ugly, and the new theme/opening credits are just....I mean, I thought the season 4 remix was blech, but then I ended up getting used to it quickly enough, since it was still so close really to the original, but this one....I can barely recognize the old theme in the new season 5 theme...:(
I mean, I know the logo (not to mention the theme) has changed a ton since the beginning anyway, but what can I say, the one above and the version of the theme under RTD are what I began with...
But yes, it is love! :D
PS--Have you been following the delegate election for our district? Are you going to vote absentee? I can't believe this Kyle Lierman guy who's only like 24 running on no experience and his daddy's money...
I already sent in my absentee ballot! For some sections I had no idea who ANYONE was and I didn't have time to look it up (I AM SO TERRIBLE), but I voted for the important ones. XD

Oh yeah....luckily this one I can actually vote in person in a booth, my first time! But yeah, there are a ridiculous number of people running for the open seat, one of whom is from my Town (though my family and I thus aren't impressed by his Town Council credentials as "experience", lol), I still have to figure out who to vote for...
Lol, good to know...:p But yeah, the big really important election of course is for governor...BECAUSE EHRLICH BETTER NOT EFFING WIN! >:(
I haaaaate the new logo, it's so unlike Doctor Who, in my opinion. They also changed the theme music, which I hate as well. Not to mention the revamp of the TARDIS. It's blue is too bright and I liked the interior of the old one better. It's just not the same.
I fell hard and fast for for this one. ;) DW became almost all I thought about, wanted to talk about, and every night I wanted to watch more DW--it was extremely addictive for me, I hadn't felt this way since when I was marathoning through SN for the first time last fall in fact.
That's exactly what happened for me, too LOL I can't even believe how fast and hard I fell for DW. I've been telling everyone that I haven't loved a show this much since I found SPN last year. And the funny thing is, DW is totally not my kind of show. I've never been a sci-fi nerd, but DW has turned me into one and I love it LOL

It's just not the same.Yep, hate the new music too, and the new TARDIS revamp...it just doesn't look as TARDIS-y and fun anymore, too glassy and hard and generic...:( I hear it's even made from the Torchwood set or something...the old TARDIS is definitely one thing I miss in the new Moffat era, I had no idea we'd be getting such a change....(it's like, I know there's a new showrunner, but did they really need to change EVERYTHING so drastically?!). And yeah, I felt the same way about the blue coloring, that actually came up when I was looking for a picture of the TARDIS for that one writer's block, lol, I specifically didn't want any season 5 images
( ... )
I think the fact that they changed EVERYTHING - The Doctor, the companion, the showrunner, the theme music, the TARDIS...EVERYTHING, is why, even though I liked it, I didn't love it like I loved the other 4 seasons. It's just really, really different compared to them. I get that it's supposed to be a "new era" but changing everything at once, makes it almost unrecognizable to me. I don't understand yet why long-time DW fans keep saying Season 5 is their favorite. I feel like if I'd been watching it all these years and was a long-time fan, I would dislike it a lot, but IDK. And it's not even the "Ten is my Doctor" issue, since I like Eleven. It's just that nothing stayed the same, there's nothing from the past to help tie-in the other seasons

Well it depends on what you mean by "long-time fans," since obviously for those who were Classic!Who fans they would be used to change with lack of previous tie-ins anyway...but yeah. I'm definitely going to miss all the old companions (since I feel like none of them would ever appear now, except MAYBE Sally Sparrow, which would be awesome anyway), and the old TARDIS, etc. The best we get are the many "Previous Doctors" sequences we've been getting...did you see the caps of Ten/Rose in the one in "The Lodger"? :) I squeed...
I had to abandon Wolf Hall, though maybe I'll finish it some day No judgement... I know that it wasn't your cup of tea! ;oP Glad you liked City of Bones! Any other thoughts?
Lol, well it was kind of my cup of tea, but I just got so distracted by TV this summer...:p I didn't feel like reading...I was thrilled I managed to finish City of Bones! (I think it helped that I had finally finished DW, so that temptation was cut off, lol....and I was determined!).
I forget, have you read CoB already? It was slow at first, but gets better...it'd have been even better though had I not already been aware of one of the big twists! There still were a few of them though to enjoy...:)
