So, a Japanese friend of mine at school told me that I should sell my worn out converses (holes, rips, no heel support, no tread, etc.) that I liked to wear all the time, on a Japanese auction site. He said that in Japan worn out clothes and shoes are really hot, and that I would make a lot of money.
I decided to have some fun, so I decided that I would try putting them on ebay and...
SOMEBODY BOUGHT THEM FOR $34.63!?!
(Of course, I had to pay about $6.00 to ship them, but still, wowza!)
So, the moral of the story is, do not throw out anything...ever. No matter how junkie it is.
