I've just booked myself a cheap day return to Portsmouth for the 2nd July. I can't wait, I'm going to visit the 'Study in Sherlock' exhibition :D :D, then of course that week is also the SH Slash Meet *happy dance*. I finally remembered what disc I put the pictures from the Sherlock Holmes Society of London walk back in 2005.

These two members met us at Speakers Corner, and it was one of the most entertaining things I'd ever seen! There had more people around them than the 'serious' speakers, and there was even an tour guide arguing in Holmes's favour ;-)

I'm pretty much recovered from my epic trek across London with spacefall. If we take out the two bus journeys (total: approx. 50mins) and the sit down in the Priory Arms (total: about 20 minutes) we were walking non-stop for about six hours ( Read more... )

I have so much respect for Holmes & Watson...

That part where they laugh when Toby takes them on his detour (which we didn't do), should read:

"Holmes, no doubt to hide his pain, burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter. All I could do was cry."

I have spent today trying to figure out with spacefall the route that SH, DW & Mary took to T. Shalto's home. Considering all the information we have with Holmes reading out the place names, it wasn't particularly easy one of the place names doesn't exist ('Stockwell Place') well, at least not any more and 'Priory Road' and 'Wordsworth Road' are so far off ( Read more... )
