I decided a few weeks ago that I needed a hobby that would get me out of the house and wandering around the city that I now call home. As you might have guessed I like taking photographs and enjoy spamming you with them all - today whilst bored I was looking on ebay and discovered that I could get an old style SLR film camera for close to peanuts. Whilst during my second year of college I was given the opportunity to do an AS level in my free time (which ended up being eaten by show rehearsals) and I chose to do photography, because I didn't really get much of an opportunity to really play around I can't remember much of what I learned so I figure the best way to really get stuck in and learn is to start with the very basics, remove the safety nets that come with digital SLRs and go old school.
I've got my eye on one of the following cameras:
Canon AE1
Minolta X370
Minolta X700
Olympus OM10
Pentax P30
I want to stay under £30 (not including P&P) so it'll be more of matter of what can I afford rather than what I really want.
I ended up changing my plans today again, I don't have the energy to negotiate the West End crowds. Tomorrow though I'm meeting
cuelight at her rehearsal space for lunch so will go to see a film at the Russian Film Festival ('Cruelty' looks interesting and very different), then on Saturday I'm meeting up with
wolfie_sara and we're going Jack the Ripper hunting! :D Today I did a semi-tidy up and worked a little bit on my Holmes!torture, but mostly I vegg'ed out on the bed listening to podcasts.
