Just watched 'Infamous', thought it was good and Toby Jones was very good... but ultimately I prefer 'Capote'. 'Infamous' is more about a fictionalised relationship between Capote & Perry Smith, drawing far more conclusions than there are evidence, it's a more sympathetic film in a way because 'Capote' was about Truman Capote writing 'In Cold Blood' and I think was more factual in the depiction of the relationship between Capote & Smith. 'Infamous' goes down the slightly sexual path (Daniel Craig & Toby Jones share a rather steamy kiss... then there is a cut-away...). It's still a very good film, a definite 4/5 (I give 'Capote' 5/5).
Random: I've just read that Toby Jones is the voice of Dobby the House Elf... I wonder if he keeps that on his CV.
Now I've seen two films about Truman Capote, and read 'In Cold Blood' (last year, took me four shows on the LX board [pre-Dirty Dancing] and then I loaned it to the DSM and he never gave it back. Maybe I should go hunting...) I'd be interested in reading a good biography. Um... the library sucks so it definitely won't have one (and I think I looked before) so either I go to the Oxfam Bookshop before college tomorrow or I go to Waterstones on my way into work.
I also can't really stop mental fuming about the way one of my friends girlfriend is treating him. If I was straight, I would kill to have someone like him... actually I'd kill to have a woman like him (I haven't had many good relationships).
