This Sunday, I'm co-hosting Bad Movie Night at The Dark Room, aka Mission Science Theater 2263. Come join us as we loudly rip apart yet another really foul flick.
Our feature will be deservedly obscure 1980 non-classic The Apple, set in the far-flung future of 1994 when an unholy union of glam, disco and atrocious fashion reigns supreme. The Onion AV Club sez: "This may be the only musical in history that's gayer than Can't Stop The Music and Myra Breckinridge combined." As if that weren't enough, it's directed by Menahem Golan, who went on to produce such USA Up All Night favorites as Enter the Ninja, Revenge of the Ninja, Ninja III: The Domination, Rappin', Breakin', Electric Boogaloo: Breakin' 2*, Missing in Action, Missing in Action 2: The Beginning, Braddock: Missing in Action III, Death Wish II, Death Wish 3, Death Wish 4: The Crackdown...well, you get the idea.
I should also point out that while the film was recently released on DVD (which I believe qualifies as the Third Horseman of the Apocalypse), we'll be watching it on Betamax, the way it was meant to be seen. So come on out, slap down a measly five bucks, dig into the free popcorn, and try to be heard over the microphoned hosts. If we steal one of your jokes, we promise to tell. Maybe.

* Contrary to popular belief (not to mention the recently reissued video box), the actual title of the film is Electric Boogaloo: Breakin' 2, NOT Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. Work with me, people.
