Plants, again

The habaneros were moved outside to begin acclimating them to the outdoors, as they've gotten a bit large and bushy to be houseplants any longer. I also hosed them down to help deal with the whiteflies which, while abundant, have not been obviously detrimental to the plants. The amount they lean in the breeze lets me know they need to be repotted, which I may accomplish this weekend.

The young pepperoncini are doing well in the windowsill and have outgrown their little temporary containers, so they too must be repotted. I may well introduce them to the outdoors soon, too.

I'm at a loss as far as what to do with the tomatoes. I unfortunately allowed them to grow too much indoors and they're now impossible to move. They too are pretty badly infested with whiteflies, but are still trying their best to thrive in spite of it. I may try pruning them back aggressively and see what happens. I do feel a little hesitant to so hastily cut back a plant that's still growing like mad, and while some sites seem to indicated tomatoes will tolerate being cut back, there's some fear of killing the plants.

Mints are happy, more on the way (supposedly). USPS hasn't updated the tracking info since they showed reciept of the electronic shipping notification on Saturday; either the shipper hasn't actually sent them yet or USPS hasn't updated their info. Given how shoddy USPS tends to be with updating their tracking neither option would really surprise me at this point, but I'm eager to get the mints established. The last batch lingered too long in shipping and I think it might have had a detrimental effect on a couple of them.

The bell peppers I started last week are germinating - at least a couple. I'm not sure if they are slow to germinate, although the other peppers were rather quick about it. It's possible I have a few duds in the batch, and it is also possible I killed them by overheating them (pepper seeds like warmth to germinate but I left them on the warmest part of my computer and they were QUITE warm). I may try again after giving the ones that have germinated a little more time to see if they'll actually sprout.

I have some non-horticultural related items for sharing but I shall do that later. Goodnight, world!
