Normally, they all act on relatively different systems. Steroids generally affect the skin and nails, as far as side effects go. Cough medicine, which I assume contains some sort of cough suppresent, normally affects the brain and hormones (as side effect)... specifically those relating to waking and sleeping. Antibiotics may or may not make you weaker and/or nauseous - make sure to always eat before you take them, unless it specifically says otherwise. "Take with water" means eat beforehand, and have a full stomach when you take them.
Of course, everyone may react differently.
Antibiotics will certainly mess up your native flora in your GI tract, killing native bacteria. I would avoid eating anything heavy on the dairy. A glass of milk or a bowl of cereal will probably be okay, though you may have increased gastric distress. Cream of cheddar soup would be right out... in fact, I would avoid most cream soups, most cheeses, and other dairy inputs. You'll need some source of calcium, and speaking as a lactose intolerant person, your body can generally handle a small serving of dairy without too much trouble
Be sure, of course, to check with your doctor. Also, vitamins may or may not have an affect on you. I know with my steroid (levothyroxine, for thyroiditis, go immune system!) I have to avoid food for a bit around when I take it, because they just aren't sure how it interacts.
Anyway, if you want, let me know and I'll do a little research.
