sight is 20/20
Well, I picked up my new glasses yesterday evening. All i can say is "WOW!"
I've had so much disappointment with my eyes that I thought this would just be another in the long line of gut-wrenching let-downs. "Oh yes, Mrs. P. this is the latest, greatest bottle of snake oil available today. You are guaranteed to see even the tiniest wrinkle lines when you look at your reflection in the mirror."
I went to pick them up, closed my eyes, put them on and expected another fizzle.
I opened my eyes expecting disappointment and was so divinely, exquisitely shocked. I stood up, walked to the window and gazed out. I found myself choked up and began weeping.
This has been such a fucking nightmare, spanning several years, eye surgeries, implants, lasers, 4 different Specialists, Wills Eye Hospital, tests, tests, tests, tests....... I had a brain bleed which nearly cost me my left eye. I was left with 20/200 vision, that is to say light, some color and mostly hazy, blurry distortion. For an artist this has been the worst possible kind of nightmare.
New technology has finally found me and I am beyond thrilled! i can see! Maybe I can finally complete some of those art projects that I put on the shelf. Maybe I can even resume my Masters Degree that I took a medical leave from because I couldn't do the readings. Maybe..........
Oh,.... and they look really sharp too.
