[Kage's sitting in one of the small library media rooms on one of the leather couches in there, watching a scene from a movie called Jacob's Ladder. There's a few empty bottles of beer by his feet and he's smoking, but very slowly. When the scene finishes, Kage lifts the remote, hits rewind, and watches it again.

*Hazar enters the room, perking up at the sight of Kage. She doesn't see the movie yet. Instead, she goes to walk up behind the First Mate and attempts to give him a hug behind.*

Hi, Pappa!

Hey, girl.

[Kage reaches behind himself and pets the side of her head. He smiles, but it doesn't really reach his eyes. He's tired.]

*She giggles and leans into the petting. Violet eyes blink at the sight of the movie and she couldn't help but to tilt her head, watching it.*

What's that?

*Points to the monster on the screen.*

No fuckin' clue, girl. Ugly, ain't it?

[He pets her head as one pets a cat, smiling faintly.]

[weaponxi]

*She nods her head but then goes to keep her head still for him to pet.*

Really ugly!

*Okay, she couldn't help but to giggle, not bothered by what is going on in the movie. She then goes to study the monster before holding up a hand to study it along with the movie.*

[Kage didn't expect Hazar to be disturbed by what was going on, he was more curious what she was doing with her hand.]

*Hazar actually saw what was playing on the screen as something completely and utterly normal. She continues to study both the screen and her hand before going to try and make it into one of the creatures hands.*
