When She Smiles

When Hwang Miyoung smiles, her pretty face lights up. Her eyes would turn into crescent-shapes and her cheeks would turn pink.

She was the type of girl who doesn’t need to wear flashy clothing or put on thick makeup like other women do to look pretty. She doesn’t need to do anything to seem pretty at all.

Because with just one smile, she could turn my whole world upside down.

Of course it doesn’t help when her pretty smile accompanies her killer ‘eye-smile’. Because when she does, my hands would become all sweaty and my insides would do somersaults. To think that Choi Siwon is all calm and collected on the outside--- well, let’s just say that I am opposite in the inside where Tiffany is concerned.

She is one of the happiest persons that I know of. You would seldom see her in a frown, although she’s still beautiful in every facial expression she does. And that was what I loved most about her.

When she smiles, I smile too.

So you could just imagine what it would feel like to see her crying in the corner by herself. She has her knees pressed against her chest and her arms wrapped tightly around herself. It was such a heartbreaking sight.

I was, as everybody tells me, a gentleman. And therefore approach her. My heart was trying to beat its way out of my chest as I shuffled through my mind to say something that would help. I didn’t know what to say to comfort her. So I just sat beside her and rubbed soothing circles on her back. She didn’t need to look up to know it was me.

It seemed like forever when she stopped crying, and I still don’t know why she was crying in the first place. But she looked up at me with red blotchy eyes and her lips quivering, I just wanted to kiss her at that moment. But I didn’t of course; I was a gentle man after all.

I smiled to her comfortingly and she smiled back, and just like that she was back to her old happy self. She confided to me her worries; she was feeling unloved by the public as antis continue to bash her for no reason, and I understood perfectly how she was feeling. Sometimes it’s just hard being an idol.

I told her that I would always be there if she needed me. But what I really wanted to say to her is that I love her and that I want to marry her someday and create nine adorable babies with eye-smiles and have beautiful voices.

She looked up at me again and smiled at me. Her smile was brighter this time and her eyes sparkled, not by tears, but by something else. Was it gratitude?

She threw her arms around my neck and hugged me tightly, kissing me on the cheek in the process. And I thought I just died and had gone back from heaven. And that Tiffany was an angel complete with the shining halo, feathery wings and a tiny golden harp in her hand and all.

From that day on, I vowed to myself to always keep Stephanie Hwang smiling.

Because Choi Siwon is the only guy who can make Hwang Miyoung smile the way she does.
