Contrary to popular belief...I'm not an idiot!

Oh sweet Jesus! I've not had time to rant about the new job because well, its great. Really it is. No stress, I get along great with the manager and she has confidence in me to get my shit done by the end of the day no matter how long my ever growing list-o-cake related crap gets. Well tonight I feel a little like this
Rant behind cut... )

blah blah blah

Hahaha I'm sorry for laughing at your rant, but the way you described this is too funny. I'm sorry Mr. Squeaky shoes is treating you like you don't know what you're doing. :(

Laugh away, I'll be the first to admit the situation was so bad it was indeed laughable. He's off tomorrow...things should be much better.

Here's the viewpoint of one of those terrible people who used to write corporate 'policy and procedure' and training manuals.

Squeaky shoes has a checklist. He has to check off each of those really boring items on the checklist certifying that he trained you how to do those things. Corporate is a mindless zombie that sucks brains out of heads. It has no intelligence to see you know this stuff. It only cares that it Squeaky Shoes sends back the checklist with each item checked off.

Mantra for dealing with training checklists:

I get paid by the hour...
I get paid by the hour...
I get paid by the hour...

Congrats on the promotion and more interesting job description.

But that's the thing, he doesn't. This is how my first day went. She showed me where everything was, told me that to take the week and make it my own, told me what we needed and sent me on my merry way. I spent 6 hours in a room an hour away learning procedure, and then had to take some short online class thing and that's it. The rest you just kinda learn as you go along. Now there is stuff she has to show me, and that comes tomorrow. Stuff like calibrating thermometers, and production sheets (stuff I already know, but she wants to refresh me) and we didn't even do any of that tonight. It was to get me ready for working alone next week, and I'm sure I probably could have done that if I had a nice little piece of paper telling me what to do. I think a training checklist would have actually been more interesting. I'm just glad I'm with the manager tomorrow night, I thought Mr. Squeaky Shoes was annoying before, tonight it was amplified times ten.

I just finished researching voodoo for a character in my Legion fanfic. Here's what I suggest...

Obtain a personal item of Squeaky Shoes.
Crochet one of your little amagurami dolls around it.
Stick pins in while picturing the guy suddenly 'gets it.'
Take the doll and bury it in some remote location ... like a branch of the same store 200 miles away.

If you do it right, he will get transferred to that store.

Oh no, not another store! I'm going to be working all of them :o Maybe just out of the bakery. He's always going on about how he's worked in plenty of departments...maybe they'll take him back.

Plus I'd rather not have to touch that sweaty apron of his.
