Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

As I no longer have internet, I really haven't even given this thing a second thought. So here's the quick of it.

School is going great. I really did miss the hustle and bustle. And the people! My kiddo has had a couple of good weeks, and I'm also teaching some 3rd graders second grade math.

Faith had an exciting though horrible first day of teaching (actually she had to come home due to the constant throwing up from food poisoning the night previous)and is crazy busy all of the time planning, coaching soccer and hanging out with friends. I rarely see her, but when I do it's always great. We went to the beach last week with a bunch of her friends, and managed to help some really nice (and cute) guys get the apartment next to ours. We are thinking about rigging up a pulley system between our kitchen windows and maybe some little bells to ring :-)

Jill, Kate, Gabe and I have been watching scary, old movies in the last few weeks. Has been lots of fun, and this week we are going to watch an old black and white, silent, German film about Dracula that one of the teachers here is lending me. Sweet! Last night we watched a 40s mystery action thriller called "This Gun for Hire," which Gabe and I loved.

Me and the girls got lost in the intervale a couple nights ago for a few hours. I loved it, even though they didn't particularly enjoy it. There wasn't a trace of city out there, and everything was so green and fresh. As I've been getting homesick as the weather cools, it was great therapy for my country girl self. Gabe thinks we walked 5 or 6 miles, as we ended up WAY out on the beltline by the end of it.

I can't wait to go back during open hours, and possible get some fresh veges and flowers.

I am going home this weekend though! Hurrah for the hicktastic Tunbridge fair! Maple shakes, farm machinery and livestock expos. Hopefully a contra dance? Plus, I get to see my little brother play in one of his first high school football games. Wow, have I missed cold fall days on the festive school grounds during a football game. Playing in the band, freezing fingers, goofing off with Jeremy and getting free hotdogs and soda.

And *crosses fingers* I would like to find my way down to Green Mountain for the alumni weekend. Sarah and I are thinking about camping by the river. Have a fire down there, just like the good ole days :-) Was great to talk to her last night, and am excited that she is going to be our neighbor in about 3 months!

I must away to get those loan bills in on time. Yay! Hope all is well with you folks in the live journal world :-)
