My debut as a newscaster!

Jan 17, 2008 20:30

I was recently asked to be a NEWS reporter for the Palestra :-) There are 2 updates a day, and there are about 8 of us reporters. I get to fill the Tuesday afternoon spot, so this was broadcast 2 days ago (on Tues.).
We are responsible for choosing the headlines, writing the stories, and submitting the broadcast to John. Then John takes the headlines we have recorded and puts in these cool graphics.
I was pretty nervous about it, since I don't have any training in news writing. I got up pretty early, wrote the stories, and headed to campus to film them.
Here's how it turned out-

There are some things I need to work on but overall, I was pretty relieved that it went smoothly. I LOVE news and I LOVE reporting!!!!

On another note, today was the first day of POLISH WEEK. The madness has begun. We learned a few dances and talked a lot about rush. Stuff all of us seniors already know, but whatever, it's fun to hang out with all of our friends.

Gotta go write a speech for preference night, so more later!
