Hmmmm, one month left and counting eh? Interesting views there on growing up and the parental/child relationship. Although I must say - albiet publicly - that going out every night, drinking, smoking, not going to school and focusing on purely social events does not in any way prepare a person of their tender teenage years for the future. Sorry honey, someone had to say it. xoxo

Seems like you have been gone forever! Can't wait to have you back in the states. As an older voice, hopefully some reason, I will concur with your Auntie regarding controlling parents. Sometimes too much control can be detrimental when the bird flies the coop, since they can't really fly on their own. But a lack of control can be even more devastating once you are expected to function as a responsible adult. It's super tough to follow the rules and be productive if it's never been expected of you until you are out of the nest. Plus I wouldn't call parents that let you go away to a foreign country for 9 mos super controlling. If that were the case you'd be locked up in your room and never allowed any freedoms. I am sure this last year has helped you grow by leaps and bounds and that is truly a gift that has been given to you by parents that love you dearly. OK, enough on the soap box. You should know I love you like my own child and I am so happy you have had this experience. Can't wait to see you, although, I am not sure ( ... )
