well that was one weird day.

i got some things done and did a bunch of firsts too i guess. i put my torn rucksack into repair because after like two years of usage, the three-quarters-torn strap decided to give in on friday. then i took stanka to the underwear shop near my work and got a bra that fit me kind of well but not 100% with 3€ discount, only for 20€. if you want a laugh - it's 70E. E. the seller said she'd order my 65Fs though, and something for stanka too - her 70Fs. hm. then i got the funny bright-green-and-white striped jean shorts. they're cute.

on the way to the bus station, from the bus we saw how somebody lost quite a bunch of bills. and when i say "bunch of bills", i mean there were 100€ bills flying around all over the street and crazy people trying to catch at least one. i had many mixed feelings about that, especially when one old probably homeless man got in the bus with one of the bills and even thought i knew i would give the money back, and it was stealing what he did, he probably did know the 100€ more than whoever could afford to be careless with a bunch of them. i'm glad i don't get to judge who deserves what because i think god's job is one hell of a tough one.

on the way from the bus station, i met a man standing near the farthest bus stops, waiting. he had a while stick so it was pretty obvious he was blind. not gonna write it all here but i helped him to the right stop, and waited with him for his 202, even when it meant i missed my own bus to work. we talked a while, and i was amazed how different his talking was - he articulated a lot and used his tone and he sounded like those people on radio shows. he was delighted when i let him pet shay, and when he said he wonders what his voice sounds like, i told shay to bark and he did and the man was stunned but happy. it was a beautiful experience.

in work, i arrived to find a half-dead chinchilla in the hospitalization room. i'm quite curious about whether he'll pull through because he looked pretty bad. then we had one really great 31,4 kilo big shelter puppy around. he looked like a dingo crossed with czechoslovakian wolfdog, and he was such a big baby. he reminded me of cassie a lot, with how he kept whimpering, too. another first was when the last patient we got to treat today appeared to be an african pygmy hedgehog. i felt a little ashamed when i was the only one of us three (and the only non-vet!) who had any idea that hedgehogs are regularly kept as pets nowadays. we learnt a lot about hedgehogs, too. and i got 10€ extra for overtime, yay. but anyway, let me get you a pic (or two):

on other news, thanks to the swelling that has formed on the right side of the back of shay's nose, right next to the lacrimal glands, i'll have a day off tomorrow, reserved for visiting another vet with shay. that is because none of the antibiotics nor the non-steroid antiflogistics (anti-inflammatory) medicine has worked so far, and it's looking worse by the day. so wish us luck i guess. i have a feeling we'll need it.
i'd write about yesterday too, about how cass got in her heat at just the worst time, and about 80+ ticks we picked off four dogs, but i'm fairly tired (and unreasonably sad, for which i blame the period), so i think i'll just go have a nap.
