The rosebush looks beautiful! For a brief time a couple years ago, I considered trying to grow small potted rosebushes on my balcony, but I never bothered for the same reason you initially neglected your rosebush - I thought that they were too difficult to care for. Considering that I've killed two beautiful bonsai trees, I didn't want to give anything else a death sentence.
I'm almost positive I can't take any credit for it, but thank you anyway!
Since it's growing from the far left side of the flowerbed, I put in two smaller roses last spring to keep it company and try for some symmetry. The little one right under the arch is a Knock Out Rose, and while it hasn't been growing and blooming with the same crazy enthusiasm as the big rose, it's managed to survive for more than a year. And it's also managed to remain a very pretty little plant with shiny leaves and a nice shape. I suspect one of it's brethren might be equally cooperative in a pot on a balcony. :)

That's a very awesome rosebush. Like the way you got it to grow in an arch. I dated a rosebush briefly in high school, but I got thorns in my lips.

Also, the rosebush probably only poked you because you tried to bite its tongue.
