I swear that I am not actually planning to make this into an All DDR, All the Time sort of journal. I'm pretty sure I just need a few more days for the novelty to wear off, and then I'll be able to shut my trap about it. Mostly. =D
In the meantime, however: DDR!
Yesterday I must have been feeling a little bit extra list-y. (I do like making lists, you know.) I initially set out just to play a few rounds of DDR, but somehow I instead wound up dancing every single (beginner-level) song included in the game so that I could make a list and rate all of them by how dance-able they were. I rated them each as either Boo, OK, or Yay! Because I am six.
There were a lot fewer "boo" songs than I had been worried there might be, happily. In the end, only a handful them seemed to have steps completely unrelated to the beat. There were also quite a pleasing number of "yay!" songs, which I assure you are enormous fun to dance to.
I was also quite pleased to note that I can apparently dance 30 songs in a row without feeling like I'm going to keel over and die, or even getting terribly winded. DDR songs are on the short side- either a minute and a half or two minutes, I think- but nonetheless I was very happy with the accomplishment. Whee!
On an entirely unrelated note, today I saw some sort of a hawk* perching on a telephone wire as if it were a blackbird. Frankly, I can see why they don't do it very often: the wire was significantly bowed under its weight, and the hawk was hunched up in what appeared to be an extremely uncomfortable position. Silly hawk! Telephone wires are for passerines!
*It might have been a red-tailed hawk, but I couldn't say for sure. I like hawks and falcons, but I'm terrible telling what species I'm looking at.
