Snow, Serenity, and Songs

The wacky weather just keeps on coming. Last night, after days of wind and rain, we witnessed something that I didn't even know existed: green lightning. The entire sky was illuminated with this neon green light, similar to what you might see in the northern lights. Only, lightning. Apparently green (and sometimes pink) lightning occurs in snowstorms. But it's very rare, since, of course, you usually don't get lightning at the same time as snow. So that was cool. Then, tonight, we were sitting in the living room poking our respective computers when a tremendously bright flash of (white) lightning filled the sky. Five seconds later, a long rumbling thunder clap rolled across the sky. An hour later, it started snowing. What the crap, Vancouver? What the crap?
In other, completely non-weather related news, I was poking around on flickr today and came across this picture. Who's that dorky looking guy on the right, you ask? Why, I think it's mmvashnik! And, even better, there's a link to the YouTube video as well. Nobody is safe from YouTube!
And, as a final note, the Decemberists concert last night was at least 200% more awesome than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty awesome. You gotta love a band that closes their encore with an audience participation re-enactment of Custer's last stand. Good stuff, man. If you don't have a copy of the Crane Wife, you're not living right.
