So. Just watched the first episode of three of Eurovision song contest thingie. One person from each country in Scandinavia (well, not the Faroe Islands or Greenland or that one country I never remember the name of in English, but all the ones who participate, anyway.), talking about the songs and their opinions of them.

It was horrible, to say the least. People talking in Swedish and Norwegian. Yuck. Only ONE person spoke Danish there, poor guy. He even had to say some numbers the Swedish way, cause the others didn't understand him. Silly people. Even the Icelandic guy spoke Norwegian, which was just silly. Boo him. I guess he lived in Norway sometime or something, though, so that might explain it.

Anyway. They showed the 11 first semi-finalists in this episode. Want to know what I think about them?

1. Finland: Jari Sillanpää-Takes 2 To Tango. Absolutely terrible. Apparantly, the guy who sings it is the "Tom Jones" of Finland. First, he's ugly. Second, he can't really sing. Third, the song is just BORING. And fourth (get this): He had FAKE WINGS attached to his back! How tacky can you get? Seriously? My sisters and I burst out laughing when they showed his back (they were tiny wings.) The mother shushed us. She probably likes him.

2. Belarus: Alexandra & Konstantin - My Galileo. The video was almost cool. Almost. I did not understand a word of the singing though, and I was never really sure if it was in English or... some other language. Plus the woman sounded like a duck.

3. Switzerland: Piero & The MusicStars - Celebrate! The boy who sings it is hideous. He wore tons of make-up. His eyebrows were plucked real nice, too. And he cannot sing. The "MusicStars" were okay, and I think that if the annoying Piero was not the "star" of the song, it would be tolerable. Like, an S Club 7 song or something like it. The lyrics? Clap your hands, celebrate, the world is a beautiful place... that's it. I could write better lyrics than that!

4. Latvia: Fomins & Kleins - Dziesma par laimi. They sing in... Latvian? Whatver language it is they speak over there, so props for that. The song is okay. Not your typical Eurovision song. I can see it getting some votes from Iceland, at least. And - they have a girl drummer, which is like, SUPER cool. The two guys who sing it are really creepy though. I wouldn't vote for them just because of that.

5. Israel: David D'Or - To Believe. Oh. My God. That's about all I can say. A soprano. A male soprano. Terrible song. Ouch, my ears! Really tacky.

6. Andorra: Marta Roure - Jugarem a estimar-nos. Pretty girl, good clothes. Upbeat song. Pop-ish, but not too Eurovision. Cool country. Cool language. Although, it's just not quite good enough. Doesn't do it for me, at least. Too normal, probably. Might not get many points because of that.

7. Portugal: Sofia Victória - Foi Magia. Bad song. Bad singer. Wailing, for three minutes. The girl looks okay, but not good enough to get points just for that. Plus, there's really bad dancing going on behind her. I hope they at least make the dance better before the actual competition. (Oh god - I listened to the song again. SO BAD!!)

8. Malta: Julie and Ludwig - On again... off again. The video is pretty, I guess. It starts off with Julie singing. And it's okay - nothing specail for sure, but okay... untill dear Ludwig starts singing. He sings opera-style most of the time, and it's just... terrible. Does not work with the pop-ish song, and the girl's pop-ish voice. He's not a Eurovision singer, that's for sure. For a while, he sings like a normal singer, and it's nice then - with Julie in the background singing opera-ish "oh-oh-oh's". Eh, at least it's funny.

9. Monaco: Maryon - Notre Planéte. Okay, I'll admit it. I pick favorites, and then stick with them no matter what. This was my favorite of tonight's episode. 16-year-old girl, pretty normal-looking, okay voice, regular pop-ish song. Pretty language. :) Simple video, simple everything... I like it. I like simple. This song won't win, but I'm rooting for it anyway! (At least for a while... there might be some good ones to come yet!)

10. Greece: Sakis Rouvas - Shake it. Ohmygod! This guy is SO GAY! This was probably my most favorite performance, cause it was just so funny. The man wore a pink tank top with the Greece flag on it, for heavens sake! Plus tight jeans, and gay hair. SO gay. Terrible, terrible song. Terrible dance. But, the guy does shake it! ;)

11. Ukraine: Ruslana Lyzhicko - Wild Dances. Okay. First, I must say. Ruslana? Heeeh. (Rusl means "trash" in Icelandic... hehe) But. The song? Not so great. Lots of drums though, and I like drums. Lots of dancing, and I like dancing. Lots of sexy women... eh, sure, I like sexy women. Some micture of Ukrainian music/dancing and rock music/Shakira-like dancing. Whee. Upbeat. I hope it at least makes it into finals, I guess. I bet the song grows on you, too.

And that is all. Sorry, ifihadameadow, I didn't tape it cause there was no tape I could use, and was way too lazy to run to the store.

Other than that, I ate chocolate, and now my tongue hurts.

Shall sleep now, cause I need to be up fairly early tomorrow. Study! Whee!
