(no subject)
Yuck.
So as I was stepping out of the shower last night - right before 11 - my phone rang. It was a very excited GL, demanding that I come dancing with her and Tinna. So I threw on the most ridiculous outfit I could think of (very orange knee-length pants and a t-shirt with lots of green stripes) and we all went to GL's where there was white wine, a guitar and make-up. Then we picked Zoe up and headed downtown (with a short stop at the store for popcorn, gum, candy and a banana...) where I had one of the most ridiculous nights out I've had in a while. But, there was some dancing to incredibly bad music (I stupidly joked about wanting to hear My Humps and of course GL didn't get that I was joking, so she asked the DJ to play it and he did - what a horrible, horrible song!), so it wasn't too bad.
Of course, this meant I went to bed WAY too late - I had CLASS to go to this morning (yes, on a Sunday). I did NOT want to wake up when my alarm went off. We spent the morning getting familiar with our little projects - my group is watching two ravens and their young for a full 24 hours - and in the afternoon we went to check out the field. Ours is an old mine - it's so incredibly dusty, but we found a really nice spot to sit in that's nice and warm if the sun is out... but it'll probably be freezing during the night. We're split into three groups of two, and each small group is doing two four-hour shifts, starting tomorrow morning... it's all very exciting, but I'm afraid that when I start my OTHER course on Tuesday morning I'll be very, very tired.
As far as music goes, I'm on a MAJOR Regina Spektor kick right now. LOVE her. I've been listening to her for a while now, but I cannot stop listening at the moment. Oh man. I SO want to see her live - that would ROCK. Sadly, she's in Europe this summer while I'm in the US, so it'll have to wait. If you're not familiar with her, go here or here and get to know her.
