Bob?

When I read this morning that Patrick Stewart was doing Twelfth Night in Chichester (his Macbeth being already sold out, I've just found), I assumed he'd be Orsino. I can see him as the slightly gruff nobleman with a good heart who turns Viola's head.

He is not playing Orsino.

Patrick Stewart - Captain Chrome Dome, Prof X himself - is going to be... Malvolio?

But... but...

Malvolio is an object of mockery; an unwitting fool.

Although, the good captain in yellow crossed garters might be amusing.

The tickets aren't cheap, but I've always wanted to see the old thesp do his stuff on stage, and I rather enjoy Twelfth Night.

One of these days I'm going to have to get to a production of Much Ado, my other favourite of his comedies, but I fear that no other Beatrice and Benedick could meet the standard set by Ken and Emma - those two are just perfect in the roles.
