The head of IT where I'm working is very evil. He just showed me
Virtual Earth and I've spent the last half hour playing with it, when I should have gone ten minutes ago. In fact, my train was five minutes ago, so I might as well head to the comic shop before I go home.
Virtual Earth is Microsoft's answer to Google World, so it should be evil, but is in fact very very shiny. I've just seen aerial and birds' eye satellite photos of my house from every angle, my parents' house, my uni campus, all three of my student houses - well, the roads of two of them because I couldn't tell which was the actual house - my college campus and even my secondary school. You can get close enough to make out our back door and garden path, and I even think I saw Rhi's car out front.
It even has a nice feature that instead of inputting a town you can give it a landmark and it'll take you right there - I typed in 'Coit Tower' and suddenly there was a beautiful birds' eye view of said tower, in San Fran. A few keystrokes and I was looking at the Griffith Observatory.
So, people, show me your homes so I can spy on you!
Right, to Dave's to see if anything good came out today and then home for my night of tv dramas - originally New Street Law, House and ER, but now, sadly, only the first two. House/Wilson slashy potential, but no lovely Luca and adorable Ray/Neela.
