Things are going crazy here in casa del shea.
In the past week, I have done/had done:
-- one closet torn out of the living room
-- ditto for a tiny pantry
-- one sliding glass door replaced with a french door
-- one sliding glass door removed and turned into a wall
-- the bathroom re-tiled
-- new sink
-- new toilet
-- taught a workshop at Montgomery college that was very well received
-- Sold 6 things on Etsy. Best month ever for sales and the month is barely started.
-- Spent 6 hours driving all over town to find 4 lousy feet of cove molding. No luck. No one makes it in that size anymore. they all could special order it, but that would cost more than replacing all the molding in that room.
-- Bought 2 bathroom sinks (gonna take one back)
-- Suffered decision overload and had a minor meltdown
-- bought tile for the bathroom
-- picked all the paint colors for the inside and outside of the house (wool skein and white trim for the inside and charcoal gray and white trim for the outside) (major accomplishment. I suffer from color paralysis. At least about paint.)
-- reached an agreement with the painter
--rented a pod to store my entire life while the painter and floor guys are working
and about a million other things.
Still to come:
granite counter tops next week
packing everything up (made a good start already)
loading the pod
removing the woodstove (who has a woodstove in Houston? Fireplace, maybe, but c'mon)
backsplash in kitchen
painting
floors
& more
Luckily, Alex is coming to visit and that will go a long way towards revitalizing me.
Calgon, take me away.
