Out of my hands

Today I shipped the pottery for my show in Houston. The plan was to ship it on Saturday but with the rain that started Saturday and the incoming hurricane, I figured that might not be the best idea. The hurricane didn't do much here, but who knows what happened to the truck it would have been in.

I filled the back of my little truck with boxes for the short ride to the post office. Once there, I had the nicest clerk to wait on me. It took 30-45 minutes to weigh, measure and all that and we had a nice chat while she worked. People say that postal workers are surly, but that's never been my experience. Once she found out what was in it and where it was going, she said she'd personally put them in a container where everything was going to Houston. That means that once it's loaded in the container, it doesn't get handled until it gets to Houston. How cool is that?

Now I won't have to have nightmares about somebody tossing the boxes in the air, drop kicking them and all those other horrible things we all just KNOW happens to our beloved packages.

Here's a pic of one of the pieces making it's way south:

Porcelain Galaxy Bowl (about 13-14 inches across)

Back to trying to clean up my place. Things got a little out of hand with the clutter and utter mess.
