When the weather turns cold like this my first reaction is to start making and drinking large cups of hot chocolate.
Problem is, for a chocoholic like myself, it is really hard to find a cup that is truly satisfying. If you have ever had the pleasure of a TRUE cup of South American Hot Cacao (which I have had ONCE), then the stuff you typically find in stores here is a HUGE let down.
But, never give up - at least when it comes to chocolate!
What I do to fake a really good cup of hot chocolate will probably disgust many - but those fellow chocoholic friends of mine may want to brave this recipe.
First get a mug - I have some REALLY big ones that I use for days like this.
Get the Hershey's Special Dark Syrup and fill your mug AT LEAST 1/3rd full of it.
Get some milk - no less than 2% and fill the cup up most of the way. Stir to mix.
Heat this up in the microwave or in a saucepan until the temperature you like.
Make a dry mixture of approximately 4 Tbls of Hersheys Cocoa and 1 Tbls of cinnamon.
When your hot chocolate is now officially hot, stir in your dry mix.
Find a nice quiet, cozy place to curl up and enjoy.
Ahhhh......
