I got home from work and had two surprising envelopes on my floor. One was from the DVLA, which gave me a bit of a pause until I remembered my road tax is due soon. Not that I've been doing anything that should catch me on camera but the mind worries none the less.
The second was a simple white envelope stating
We're having a party - hope you can come! The Neighbours
The words are blue and look like someone might have written them in felt tip. My mind is conjuring images of street parties or garden parties with barbeques and such. Bemused, as we have been invited to a neighbours party before and the idea is not completely out of this world, I decide I must open the envelope.
So do I get a garden party? Is there grilled meat in my future? Apparently the answer is yes, if I visit Ireland.
It's a nice glossy leaflet with comments such as "Drop in on the neighbours" (picture of castle); "Visit your local shops" (picture of market) and "Come round for a drink anytime for a drink" (Picture of a lively local pub). It even has a lovely map showing how many places I can fly and ferry to from Liverpool/Manchester (the map being too small so see which it is, but ferries makes me think Liverpool). All in all a very nice advert that makes me sad it will just end up in the recycling. But at least I read it first ;)
