Welcome to college life in Holisdale, featuring all three pre-made universities!
106 pictures (I kid you not!); warnings include: uncensored nudity, sexual situations, language.
So now it's finally college time. I made up a little system to decide where our Holisdale young adults will end up. They will attend a certain university based on their personality and aspiration. Having a family member in a certain university will also influence the decision.
So far, my system works as such: Knowledge and Fortune (and on occasion, Family) sims will attend Académie Le Tour.
So will studious or quiet sims.
Family, Popularity and Grilled Cheese (and on occasion, Knowledge) sims will attend Sim State.
So will sims of average personality.
Romance and Pleasure (and on occasion, Popularity) sims will attend La Fiesta Tech.
So will playful, lazy or fun-oriented sims.
Académie Le Tour
The Académie is the first in our college line-up, and with us here we have Arnold McPherson.
Arnold McPherson -- Family; Taurus (5/5/3/8/4); LTW: Raise 20 Puppies or Kittens; turned on by stink and red hair; turned off by vampirism
Joining him is his current girlfriend and high school sweetheart, Meadow Thayer.
Meadow Thayer -- Family; Aquarius (4/4/4/7/6); LTW: Have 6 Grandchildren; turned on by cologne and glasses; turned off by red hair
Also joining Arnold is his best friend, Sophie Miguel.
Sophie Miguel -- Fortune; Scorpio (6/5/8/3/3); LTW: Earn $100,000; turned on by vampirism and blond hair; turned off by facial hair
These three all live together in one dorm. Fun, fun, fun.
The first thing we do is update their wardrobes. This is Arnold here, post-makeover. The hair suits him too well for him to change it, but he's looking quite spiffy in his new threads. Definitely has that studious college boy look going for him--perfect for the university he's at! He is also majoring in Psychology.
Meadow also gets a makeover, one that not only makes her look older and more mature, but one that Arnold certainly approves of. The two look like a very posh couple when put together, something neither of them minds. She is majoring in Philosophy.
Sophie gets a more relaxed makeover, one that makes her look more her age.She seems to be pleased with it and like her new look; it does fit her very well. She is majoring in Art.
Arnold and Meadow immediately settle into their couple-y ways, eating together and spending more time with each other than with anyone else. Although both plan on branching out and making friends and networking later on, it's nice to have someone you're so familiar with. Arnold was definitely glad that he'd convinced Meadow to go to the Académie with him. Once he'd heard she'd been considering Sim State, he did his very best to make her consider otherwise. He'd told her that going to the same college and living together would be a challenge for them and their relationship and definitely an experience.
Well, let the experience begin.
It wasn't too hard to get into the swing of things at their college--most of the students were rather academically focused, but they still had their fun. For one, they had that pirate pimp king arcade game on the second floor of the dorm and pretty much every student in the dorm could attest to its addictiveness. Many dollars were wasted on this game, that's for sure.
Foreseeing that she would be left out quite often with The Perfect Couple (Meadow and Arnold) having daily reunions, Sophie went out to find some friends of her own, mainly romantic interests. She was quite interested in Shaun Thompson right off the bat (partially because she'd heard that he was quite interested in her) and the two got to talking. It wasn't quite the same as hanging out with Arnold, but Shaun would have to do for now. Sophie was trying to branch out.
Speaking of branching out, Sophie also made sure to make an effort to get close to the very girl she helped set Arnold up with. Although they'd been in the same school and even some of the same classes for years, the girls weren't much more than acquaintances and now that they were living together, it was the perfect time to change all that. Besides, Sophie being Arnold's best friend and all, she was definitely supposed to know a little more about his girlfriend than she did.
So they played a little chess together and due to Meadow's lack of concentration, skill and strategy, Sophie repeatedly won until Meadow grew tired of it and decided that going on the computer would be more fun.
Of course, that's when Arnold decided to show up shirtless and challenge Sophie to another game of chess. This one was much more difficult for Sophie to concentrate on and therefore to win because her eyes kept drifting away from the board and onto Arnold's chest, an almost perfect sight that she'd never gotten to see before. It stirred up strange feelings in her, feelings she'd rather not acknowledge or feel during a game of chess with her best friend. Arnold seemed to think nothing of it however and Sophie wondered why this was suddenly so uncomfortable.
It could have been the angry, frustrated grunts that one heard far too often coming from Meadow's corner of the room. Sophie had glanced up at the girl on the computer a couple of times, but Meadow's angry face had scared her eyes away. For some reason, even though she knew perfectly well that Meadow was frustrated at whatever game she was playing, Sophie thought that Meadow's anger was being directed at her. The thought made her feel even more uncomfortable and even slightly guilty for sitting across from Arnold as if him being shirtless around her was no big deal.
Not before long, she quit the game with a nervous smile, claiming she was too tired to concentrate properly. Funnily enough, Meadow's grunts stopped soon after Sophie left the room.
Yeah, Meadow did get easily jealous, but Arnold didn't know that. Besides, she had good reason to be so on edge about other girls being around her boyfriend. Arnold was hot and there was definitely a line of girls behind her waiting to be his girl should he decide he was done with her. Meadow would do all she could to keep those girls away and keep Arnold to herself. She especially couldn't trust a girl like Sophie Miguel, who had been close to Arnold since what seemed like forever and whom Meadow really didn't know at all.
So yeah, she was a little insecure and got easily jealous--but as far as she was concerned, she had good reason.
As the days passed, Meadow's jealousy became more obvious and apparent, even to Arnold. He never commented on it though, not to anybody. Sophie had figured it out from Meadow's angry grunts during the chess game and even though Sophie had felt uncomfortable and guilty then, even she could spot a jealous girlfriend. Sophie figured she could understand where Meadow was coming from, but when it got so bad that Meadow couldn't even hang out with Arnold when he was with another girl (especially Sophie), then Sophie started to get irritated and annoyed.
Arnold gave her a look as Meadow walked out of the cafeteria, refusing to eat with them on the claim that she wasn't that hungry, but Sophie just shrugged back. "I'm trying really hard to be friends with her," she said, frowning at Arnold. "Honest!"
Arnold just shrugged it off; he wasn't really concerned about Meadow and Sophie's relationship. Maybe Meadow was a little wary of Sophie because she was so close to Arnold, but Arnold knew that Meadow would soon realize that she had nothing to worry about. His and Sophie's relationship had always been strictly platonic--in fact, Sophie was the one who'd encouraged him to ask Meadow out! For her to want Arnold for herself now would be ridiculous. Still, Sophie was pretty and still single; maybe that's why Meadow felt threatened or something.
Arnold didn't know; he was just trying to understand his girlfriend. Girls were so complicated.
"So," Arnold started as he and Sophie settled down at a table to eat their breakfast of omelettes, "how are things?"
Sophie shrugged. They were just settling into college life and she really did like her classes, assignments and professors. She had more free time than she'd thought she would and besides whatever problem Meadow had with her, Sophie's social life was faring quite well.
"I'm...good," Sophie told Arnold with a wry smile. "What about you?"
"Same," Arnold answered. "Anything new popping up I should know about? Like, any love interests?"
Sophie spluttered and nearly choked on her omelette. "What? Love interests?"
Arnold laughed. "Um, yeah. I mean, I've never seen you with anyone ever. Unless you're like, asexual or aromantic or something and you're just not telling me."
Sophie gave Arnold a look. "I'm neither, thanks. For your information, Arnold McPherson, I just haven't found someone who's up to my standards yet...or available." Arnold laughed at that and Sophie stuck her tongue out at him. "Yeah, not all of us are lucky enough to have wonderful matchmakers as their best friends."
"Well, how ironic is that? The matchmaker can't even find a match for herself."
"It's much easier to set people up when you have an outsider's view," Sophie told Arnold. "I don't know. I've never really been interested in dating or whatever."
"Yeah, you're totally asexual," Arnold joked.
"I mean, come on Sophie. There are probably plenty of guys who'd love to date you if you just gave 'em a chance," Arnold insisted and Sophie raised a skeptical eyebrow.
"Oh really? And where are they?"
"Why don't you go out and find out? I mean, you're a beautiful girl and you're smart and funny and nice and a great person, really. What guy wouldn't want to have you?"
Sophie tried to ignore the blush that was crawling up her cheeks, but it was damn near impossible. Arnold was making her blush--Arnold--because of some silly compliments. What was wrong with her?
"You better shut up, McPherson, before someone overhears you and gets the wrong idea. Wouldn't want Meadow getting jealous now, would we?"
Arnold laughed and rolled his eyes. "We have nothing to worry about here, please. Meadow knows we're just friends so as far as I'm concerned, what anyone else thinks doesn't matter."
''Oh, she does, does she? It's funny--I didn't get that impression when she refused to eat breakfast with us simply because I was with you."
Arnold laughed again, louder this time. "She never said that!"
"She didn't have to!" Sophie cried. "By the way, could you ask her to stop glaring daggers at me every time she sees me with you? It's creepy."
Arnold knew Sophie was only half-joking when she said that and that kind of irked him. There was really no reason for Meadow to feel so jealous and protective of him. Arnold wasn't going anywhere and he thought he'd made it perfectly clear that he was in love with Meadow and that she was all he'd ever need. Apparently not.
"I'll tell you what. I'll talk to her about it, okay? If she's still being ridiculous, just tell me and I'll deal with it, okay?"
Sophie frowned. She didn't want to make Meadow's petty jealousy a big deal. It hardly affected her relationship with Arnold anyway, so it didn't really matter. But she knew if she tried to protest Arnold's decision, he'd just make a bigger deal out of it.
"Yeah, sure," Sophie agreed, having no intention of telling Arnold if anything else went wrong in the future. He was way too overprotective of his family and friends, she knew that. Leaving for college had been hard for him because he had to leave his family behind and everyday since arriving at the Académie, he talked about how he couldn't wait until his sisters came to college. To him, his friends were like family, so Sophie was no different.
In fact, Arnold used to be just like a brother to her, but something had changed in their relationship recently. Sophie couldn't quite put her finger on it, but suddenly she got really uncomfortable around Arnold when he did or said certain things. She didn't really understand why, but for some reason, she had a bad feeling about it.
The two continued talking until they finished their breakfast and Sophie was glad that she'd got to spend that much time with Arnold uninterrupted by anyone else. She missed the hours they used to spend together just chilling or hanging out on his lawn. After breakfast, they split to go their separate ways.
After that talk however, it seemed almost impossible for Sophie to get any more alone time with Arnold. If he wasn't with Meadow, then he was with somebody else and if he wasn't with somebody else, he was at class or sleeping. Sometimes Meadow couldn't even get to him and that was when Sophie and Meadow really began to hang out. After having Arnold talk to her, Meadow saw Sophie as less of a threat and instead focused her energy on getting to know Sophie better (that didn't stop her from getting jealous when other girls were around Arnold though). The two struck up an odd kind of friendship, but they did get close and began to spend more time together voluntarily. Meadow found Sophie to be quite charming and Sophie thought Meadow was sweet.
So far, college was really working out for the trio.
Things only got better when Sophie received a call from an old friend who said he was currently attending Sim State University. He asked if he could drop by to say hi and Sophie immediately agreed. His name was Zeeshan Despret and he'd known Sophie for just as long as she'd known Arnold, if not longer. They hadn't spent much time together since going off to college, but after they had their little reunion, Sophie knew she'd have to change that.
They spent most of the day hanging around the dorms and Sophie showed Zeeshan her room and they talked a lot about their college experiences. Sophie thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with him again and was so glad he'd called. Unfortunately, Zeeshan had a class later that day and Sophie admitted that she had some assignments to catch up on, so Zeeshan had to leave. Before he went though, Sophie asked him if he had a girlfriend and he pretty much laughed the question off, saying, "Who, me?"
Sophie didn't find it so funny though.
"You could go out with me," she suggested before leaning in for a kiss. Zeeshan, although slightly surprised, quickly responded and that's when it began. Zeeshan left with the promise of a date later that week. Sophie walked around the dorms for the rest of the day with a bright smile on her face.
Sophie's new cheery disposition did not go unnoticed by Arnold--nor did the cause of it. Over dinner in the dorm cafeteria, he asked her about it.
"So...you're smiling more than usual and I saw you with some guy outside," Arnold stated, raising an eyebrow. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together."
Sophie grinned. "So, I guess I took your advice. I mean, I took the initiative and one of my old friends called me up--Zeeshan Despret, you'd like him--and I guess I just felt it was right, you know? I got a little caught up in the moment. But I really like him, Arnold. He's an absolute doll."
Arnold raised both eyebrows at that statement. "Despret, huh? Guess he's a little desperate for some love, huh?"
Sophie frowned. "Why? 'Cause he wants to go out with me? Just what are you trying to say here, Arnold?"
Arnold sighed. "No, I didn't mean it like that. I just... Be careful, okay?"
"Yeah, whatever," Sophie muttered as she got up to clean up her empty plate, most of her good mood gone now. She didn't understand what Arnold's problem was. One moment he was encouraging her to go out and meet guys and the moment she made a move, he was telling her to be careful? What was he playing at?
Almost immediately after Sophie left, Meadow settled down in the seat across from Arnold and his face brightened up immediately. Well, until she opened her mouth, that is.
"What was that about?" Meadow asked, motioning to the door with her head. "Sophie just bolted out of here with the worst look on her face. She didn't even say hi to me. What's going on?"
Arnold shook his head and sighed. "Nothing."
Doesn't sound like nothing to me, Meadow thought, but she just pursed her lips and didn't say anything else on the matter. If Arnold wasn't willing to say anything on the subject, then she wouldn't pressure him. That didn't mean she wasn't going to try to find out what was going on on her own though.
The next night, on her way back to the dorms from class, Meadow caught Sophie giving a rather intense smooch to a guy Meadow had never seen her with before. The sight made Meadow raise her eyebrows, but Sophie didn't even notice Meadow as she walked past her--Sophie was too into her guy. This definitely piqued Meadow's interest and she wondered if this could be what Arnold was so irritated about.
If it was, she couldn't for the life of her understand why.
When Meadow went outside again, she spotted Sophie and that guy basically in the same spot they'd been in when she'd first spotted them. It was as if they hadn't moved at all. They looked like they were having fun together though, so Meadow didn't bother them. She was happy Sophie had finally found someone who made her happy and she couldn't wait to ask Sophie about the details later. Still, something nagged at her in the back of her head, making Meadow feel uneasy about Sophie's new guy. Again, she didn't understand why, but she felt like this new relationship might cause trouble. For who, she wasn't sure.
However, it was clear that Sophie had no bad feelings about Zeeshan nor any feelings concerning impending doom or anything like that. She had no problem dragging him all around the dorms for anyone to see and they were kissing and touching almost always. She was really getting caught up in her first relationship and she loved it. It definitely helped having known Zeeshan for so long--they were both so comfortable around each other. The new romantic aspect of their relationship was just a new dimension for Sophie, one she had much fun exploring and getting used to. She really enjoyed it and she could see why Meadow had gotten so jealous before; Sophie wanted to hold onto this relationship and Zeeshan for as long and as hard as she could, no matter how selfish it seemed.
Zeeshan didn't have any classes the next day, so he stayed the night in Sophie's room and then stayed up until around dinnertime the next day. He got to meet Arnold officially for the first time and although he was initially excited about it, Arnold pretty much squashed his excitement the moment Zeeshan sat down across from him.
"So, you're Arnold, right? Sophie's infamous best friend," Zeeshan joked, grinning. Arnold did not grin or laugh in return.
"And you're the boyfriend," he said dully, making Zeeshan's grin disappear almost instantly.
"Yeah... The name's Zeeshan."
"...Charmed."
Zeeshan swallowed nervously and just glanced down at his plate of spaghetti and meatballs. He hadn't expected him to click right away with Arnold, but he hadn't expected such a cold reception either. He didn't know why Arnold didn't seem to like him without even knowing him, but he didn't bother asking why.
The next day, after Zeeshan had been long gone, Sophie and Arnold finally had some alone time. Sophie had been looking forward to it, seeing as she hadn't properly spent some time with Arnold since the last talk they'd had, but the moment she saw Arnold's sour face and damp mood, her opinion changed.
"What's eating you?" she asked as she backed away from the dartboard, getting ready to make her first throw.
Without looking at her, Arnold answered. "Your boyfriend."
Sophie raised an eyebrow and made a face as she aimed for her first shot. "Oh really? Just what do you have against Zeeshan? You haven't even properly met him."
"Oh, I met him last night. He's really...bland. I don't know; he just seems ill-suited for you," Arnold said, giving Sophie a look. She couldn't believe this. Arnold had only met Zeeshan the night before and had probably talked to him for no more than five minutes; who was he to judge?
"Also, he sounds like a dying buffalo in bed."
Sophie had chosen that moment to shoot her dart and Arnold's statement had caught her so off-guard that her aim got horribly messed up. She didn't even manage to hit the actual dartboard.
"Excuse me?!" she cried, giving Arnold a horrified look. He only shrugged apologetically.
"Sorry. The whole dorm could hear you."
Sophie's cheeks burned. She could recall many times she'd heard Arnold and Meadow going at it, but she'd never commented on any of those times--not even to tease Arthur. It was just somewhere she didn't go. The fact that Arnold had gone there with her not only shocked her, but it hurt her. She felt so disrespected.
"It's your turn," was all she could say as she stepped away from the dartboard and let Arnold shoot.
She got her voice back once Arnold stepped up to the dartboard. "I can't believe you," Sophie said, shaking her head. "I would never say anything like that about you and Meadow. I hate how you're acting so high and mighty now, now that I actually took your freakin' advice and got a boyfriend. You're such a fucking hypocrite, A!" Sophie didn't mean to get so worked up about it, but Arnold's behavior over the past couple of days was really starting to get to her.
"I mean, I freakin' helped set you up with Meadow and you can't even show the tiniest bit of support for me and Zeeshan! I'm new to this, Arnold and maybe--just maybe--it'd be nice if my oh-so-experienced friend could help me out should I have any problems. But no, you've got to put me and my relationship down instead, huh? Just remember, Arnold; if it weren't for me, you and Meadow wouldn't even be together."
Meadow happened to slip behind the pair as Sophie finished her sentence and Meadow's eyes widened. She hadn't heard about this. What did Sophie mean? Meadow had been planning to say a cheery hello to the two, but it didn't seem like either of them were feeling too cheery and after that comment, Meadow was a little too confused for words. So instead, grateful that neither of them had seen her, Meadow retreated back upstairs for a shower and to clear her mind.
Arnold took a moment to take in everything Sophie had just said. In the back of his mind, he knew she was right and that he really didn't like her having a boyfriend. In the back of his mind, he also knew why that was, but he wasn't even willing to acknowledge that yet.
"Is that what you think I'm mad about? The fact that you have a boyfriend now?"
Sophie narrowed her eyes at Arnold. "What else would it be?"
Ignoring her question, Arnold said, "I just don't like the sound of Zeeshan. That's all. I'm looking out for you because I care about you."
Sophie frowned. Could have fooled me... "Yeah, well...get to know him before you judge him. I mean, I gave Meadow a chance, didn't I? I expect the same for my significant other from my best friend. Okay?" Sophie gave Arnold a look and he nodded before she shook her head and walked away. What had happened to them?
After Sophie and Arnold had their talk, Zeeshan seemed to show up at their dorm a lot more often. Sophie was more comfortable inviting him over and going out with him now and she liked to test Arnold every so often to make sure he wasn't still judging Zeeshan without knowing him. Sometimes these tests were intentional and sometimes they weren't.
For example, once Sophie really just got swept up in the moment with Zeeshan and the two started making out in the middle of the room. Arnold, gone unnoticed by Sophie, was in another corner of the room, playing the pirate pimp king game and upon noticing Sophie and Zeeshan together, he began to curse violently and shake the machine a little more than he should have.
When asked about it later, Arnold claimed that the game had frustrated him a little too much. Sophie didn't believe him.
His story was especially hard to believe after Arnold and Meadow turned what had started out as a fairly innocent make-out session into live porn (not so coincidentally on the same floor where Sophie was playing chess). Sophie did try her damn best to ignore the pair and tried not to let them get to her, but when Meadow started up with the load moaning and heavy breaths, Sophie had to stand up and slam her hand down on the chess table, shouting that she couldn't take anymore and all but ran out of the room.
Meadow, not having been part of Arnold's plan, was really confused.
For a while after that, Sophie refused to talk to either Meadow or Arnold, which really got Meadow in a bad mood. She'd thought that she and Sophie were really getting somewhere and almost considered the girl to be her best friend, but this cold shoulder was making her doubtful. She didn't even know what Sophie had to be mad about. Meadow had profusely apologized about the indecent exposure, but Sophie had just shaken her head and walked away.
Although, by the end of the week, Meadow's days were looking much brighter. Arnold had spontaneously gotten down on one knee to proclaim his love for her, which definitely made Meadow smile.
But then he pulled out that magical black box and Meadow had to bite down on her fingers to keep from shrieking like a twelve year old girl and alerting everyone in the dorm. She couldn't believe it--Arnold was actually proposing to her! She had no idea what had brought this about. The few times the two had even discussed marriage, it didn't sound like they were making any long-lasting life plans together. Meadow had hoped Arnold would propose because she really did want to spend the rest of her life with him, but she wasn't going to pressure him into anything.
So of course, him actually proposing to her pretty much made her life.
Of course she said yes right away. Her answer gave Arnold such incredible relief. He'd been worried that it was too soon--they were only sophomores in college after all. They still had so much left of their lives before they really had to settle down. But Arnold had a feeling that Meadow was truly his One. Recent events had shaken this feeling a little, but he knew she'd always be there for him and he did love her a lot. He was so happy she'd said yes.
And that was how Arnold McPherson and Meadow Thayer were engaged.
Not long after they were officially engaged, Arnold called his mother to tell her the news. She was very excited about it and thought it was sweet that he was going to marry his high school sweetheart. Hearing from his mother only helped make him feel stronger about this engagement and the choice he'd made. His mom was behind him one hundred percent and he was very grateful for her support. When he asked her if she thought he was too young to make such a decision, she told him that it was his life and he was twenty years old--it was time he started making big life decisions for himself. Arnold hung up a while later feeling very reassured about a lot of things.
The engagement seemed to be the perfect thing to cement Arnold and Meadow's relationship. A new flame seemed to ignite in their romance and Meadow went into a fit of happy, girly giggles every time she called Arnold her "fiancé," which always made Arnold smile. He had Meadow and Sophie had Zeeshan and even though the pairs weren't talking to each other, they were both relatively happy and that was what mattered.
The trio made it to Junior year (all of them with honors, of course) and that's when I decided to change Sophie's aspiration because I felt that Fortune really did not fit her. Of course, she re-rolled something even more ill-fitting.
Sophie Miguel -- Romance; Scorpio (6/5/8/3/3); LTW: Become Professional Party Guest; turned on by vampirism and blond hair; turned off by facial hair.
Well, that's all for the Académie. Now we go to
Sim State University
(
for part two of college )
