congratulations you WON!
Tonight was a girls' night out with work girls. I almost didn't make it. I almost called in tired and grumpy and pregnant. Instead I donned my biggest hoop earrings and glossiest lipgloss and headed to Fino because these girls are special and evenings with them are rare.
We all had wine and toasted, but they toasted to me. And my Mom showed up. Apparently it was a surprise baby shower/honoring dinner and I was indeed surprised. Each girl gave me a bead that they'd specially chosen for me and Jen is going to string them together so I can hang it near the bed/birthing tub. She said it's to remind me of the strength they all see in me and the support I have in them. It was beautiful and almost made me cry. They also presented me with a gift from the whole studio, a Tripp Trapp.
I'm blown away by these acts of sweetness and thoughtfulness toward me. I feel like I'm such an insubstantial person but these substantial things are happening. I feel so lucky. And I also feel renewed in my strength and resolve for the home birth. They all think I can do it, how can they all be wrong?
