for my own notes later

I took the gestational diabetes test today. My fasting blood sugar was 70, my post-huge-freaking-pancakes-breakfast-tacos-and-tea blood sugar was 81. Clearly I do not have GD. Yay!

Isn't it funny the things we can wring ourselves about?

Morning sickness is back with a vengence. I fell asleep on the couch in my office today and woke up very confused. Then I left work, went to Central Market, bought a square of Miles of Chocolate, and ate the whole thing.

In other, more meaningful news, my Mom turns 50 today. Yay Momma! She showed me her midwives' notes from her births with Meg and Ez and from the time contractions got regular to the time the baby was nursing was under 3 hours in each case. Clearly I have some good birthin' genes in me and I hope I make good use of them. It was amazing to see in the middle of the contractions that the midwife wrote "Ronda is cheerful and grinning, can't wait to meet the baby." That is how I want to be. Strong and smiling, which seems to be how she really has spent her whole past 50 years.
