It's a grand ole Saturday morning. I woke up at 8:30 panicked that I'd slept late and missed an important session. When I realized it was Saturday I grinned and haven't stopped grinning since ( Read more... )

I understand no $$ at Christmas (yay law school) :). I baked a ton this last Christmas, and it worked out well. Banana pudding for one relative, cakey chocolate cookies for another relative, that torte I brought to your New Years' party for a friend, key lime bars for another friend, and rocky ledges. The key lime squeezing hurt my hand, but everything else was swell, and if you have the basic goods already, fairly cheap/easy. Oh - it makes the house smell fantastic too :).

Martha put out a new magazine on crafty things to make people too. That require more time, but it had soaps, candles, bath fizzies, etc. in it too.

Yeah! Here're a couple others: http://store.gxonlinestore.org/ and http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/

And there might be physical stores near you, though I'm not sure how you'd find them. Austin has a place called "Ten Thousand Villages" that's just like these places, lots of world-trade/free-trade stuff. It's conscientious shopping!

And baking goes well with running, that's my motto - they cancel each other out!
