I'm sorry, i followed you here from the weddings in 2006 community when i read that you had problems with someones posts. I really hope I havent said anything that came off snide to you, i certainly don't know if i have said anything to you, and i dont think i have said anything purposely digging, but things may come across incorrectly online, so if i have done something, i sincerely apologise, and if it isnt me, then i apologise for anything anyone did say. That is certainly shitty when people just take out their judgements on people who are only there to talk about good things-ie weddings.
I dont know what the issue was, I certainly don't have a problem with any religious beliefs, but i know i posted something about asking if catholic churchs will always make you commit to certain things. I only shared my experience considering, though i am not catholic, i do go to a catholic school, my fiance is from a catholic family, and basically all my friends atleast come from a catholic upbringing, whether they share the faith still or not.
That is the only thing that i think might have made someone mad, but it certainly was never intended to do so.
Anyhow, I think if this puts you in the position to get the dress you really really dream of within your budget, then get it. Wear it. be happy, but you could also wear the dress you made. You could either wear it for a rehersal dinner or other weddign related event, or a send off dress for the end of your wedding, or just change into it for your reception. If your are going on a honeymoon, you could pack that too, so that you have something pretty to wear if you have any occasion to dress up on your honeymoon.
Whatever you decide, just don't regret anything, and if you think you will, then figure out how not to. This will only happen once, ignore what society or tradition tells you, only listen to what you want the most. What will make you feel the most comfortable and beautiful.
I have ordered not a big dress, but a more traditional dress but i also love this one dress from a local designer, that is much more of an alternative to a wedding dress. It is certainly formal and even has a little train, but it something that could be worn to any formal party- although maybe not someone else's wedding, considering brides tend to hate when other people wear white/ivory on THEIR day.
I think i may get the second dress, since i have been able to get a good deal on the first dress, and talked the designer down on the price of the second dress. I will be able to wear it to some of the formal parties tony and i go to for his work. So i know it can be reworn. I am going to change into it for the send off, and then take it on our honeymoon. and hopefully get lots of pictures. I basically didnt get this dress as my only wedding dress because, though i loved it, i still wanted something a lil more bridal.
anyhow, i hope your beef is not with me and i hope your wedding is great!
