Okay so before I immerse myself in getting my biology notebook in order, I guess I have a minute to update.
I took Andrew, my future roommate, to sushi with us on Sunday night. It was great because he wasn't shy even though the group can be kind of intimidating even to me sometimes (Bo, Derek etc.). Then he started telling stories about working as a chef at Kyoto, and everyone was wowed by his talk of doing fire tricks and stuff (Andrew works at one of those places where they cook it all in front of you in a show-like setting). I couldn't help but be a little bit proud of my new friend :) So the two of us are finally past that awkward beginning stage and he's calling me to see what's up and to invite me to do things.
I'm one of the luckiest kids in the world. I have this great new roommate/friend, my parents bought an awesome condo in Bellingham that they are so generously letting me live in, I'm not broke for once, Matt and I made the reservations for our Glacier trip, and since I already have an A in my Psych class I don't have to take the final (she drops a test).
The hobbit hole, while it's small, potato bug-infested and dark, has really grown on me. I think I'm going to miss it when I move out. Sure, it has bugs that seemingly come out of nowhere. And everytime someone flushes the toilet or takes a shower I can hear the water rushing above my head. And the crack under the door lets in all kinds of leaves and crap JUST AFTER I VACUUMED AGAIN... I like it because it's my own little place. My first place. And it's all mine. So there.
So I might actually get to do something other than cashiering at work this summer. They're looking for another person to cover the "softside" which is the side with all the bedding and bath stuff. This would mean putting out freight, answering people's questions, making displays, answering calls for that type of stuff, etc. Much more interesting than what I currently do. So yeah I wrote a note to my boss saying I was interested in the position. Hopefully I'll be able to do some of softside in addition to cashiering so I don't poke my own eye out from boredom this summer.
So my birthday is next Monday. And I'm quite indifferent about it. I'm only turning 20. And by now absolutely all of my friends have turned 21 or older, so it's kind of a bummer birthday but hey, I'll just let it pass without much fanfare, spend the money I get from my grandparents on rent and call it good. At least I don't have to work that day.
Okay, now that I've made my first update in awhile, it's time to get back to my ever-increasing "To Do" list.
hope you all are doing well. Good luck with finals studying, for those of you who are unfortunate enough to have finals. :)
