Most of the galleries here on Vancouver Island are sooooo conservative...landscapes, florals, and pretty things only please. Or you already have to be a known quantity in the artworld echelons. So I've pretty much done my own thing at very local little shows and spaces.
Several artist friends have told me for years that I should submit my works to
The Nanaimo Art Gallery because they actually encourage outside-the-box contemporary work. And getting my work shown farther afield is my main goal this year, so it was fitting to get an email about an upcoming show at that gallery called Red, Redder, Reddest.
Odd that their site doesn't mention the show but if it is happening I'm going to submit this one. Ok?
